  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi

This is part of a project I'm working on

Tell me what you think

1

Jonah was
The son
Of Amittai

A prophet
Of the
Most High

God

God spoke to Jonah
And told him
To be a stranger
In the city
Of Nineveh

Repentance
Is what
Was to be
Preached

Amen!

2
Jonah put himself in jail
Jonah put up
And the whale

Inside the fish
Jonah wished
And sung to God
In hymnal dish

"Oh God
You saved
My heart"

3
Go again
Jonah
Go again
To Nineveh

Go to bed
With these things said
And Jonah did
All God said

But that’s not
The End

4
God is good
All the time
Jonah wasn’t
Whine

Jonah loved plants
More than
Ninevites

And God
Told him
A new
Thing

Here's another poem I wrote based on:

The Book of Job
1

Job was a rich man
Oh, Job was a very wealthy soul
He needed nothing and was grateful to God
That’s my guess of the way things were between them

When you suffer
Make sure you learn from your suffering

When you learn
Make sure it is as vivid an experience as possible

When you experience life
Make sure you’re with friends

When you’re with friends
Make sure you make them feel at home

Job’s friends did not do this
At least I don’t think they did

Job was to suffer at the hands of the Accuser
The one who said that Job was not of God
The one that knew there was more to Job
Than blind obedience to God

Accuser knew God
And was free to approach his throne
Free to tell God all his grumblings
Free to be who he was before God

If only God would reveal himself to more Accusers
Then we would see more Victorious
But we may see more suffering

And how do we handle suffering?

2
Job must have done something wrong
This is what his friends argued with him about
They were convinced that only bad men suffer

3
In a storm, I believe
God approached Job
And asked him to brace himself like a man

These were heavy issues
The issue of suffering
And God would not make light of Job’s plight

God spoke of something like a fire-breathing beast
One that cannot be tamed
His name is Leviathan

Is he a fire-breathing dragon?

Saint George defeated dragons
But Leviathan could not be tamed
Who was Leviathan?
What is suffering?

Suffering comes to man
But man did not understand it
Leviathan came from God
But man could not make it his slave

Where is the similarity
Between man and Leviathan?
Between suffering and God?

Make sure you meditate on these things
Dearest of readers!

4
Job was reimbursed
Job, in fact, was blessed
Job was fortunate enough to have his wealth again
Job was blessed enough to have his health again

Job was a child of the universe
No less than the fire burnt tree
No less than the gum tree

Job would be a star in the sky of God
No less than the sun
Not under our searing sun

There would be a carefully mended jar
That Moses in a metaphor smashed
For Job to drink from and be refreshed
Drink also, wounded one
Drink and be cool

Cool off beside the Waterfall of Heaven
The one where there is forever flow
Count your friends by the banks of the river
Count your blessings

There are as many as there are glimmers in the ripples
It will be like this again
Have faith, even if it is your only possession
And God will reward you for your patience
