I've read some of his books... several in fact. He is a solid Bible teacher. Unfortunately he has some leanings which taint some of his work. On the whole though I would recommend him.cactusj said:Do any of you read John Macarthur? How do you feel about him? What authors do you recommend?
Not bad! Though for me there is still something special about a book in hand. To sit in the lazy-boy turning pages until the wee hours of the morning, is something that I'd rather not give up. I guess I'm old fashioned. Or mabey, as my wife says, just getting oldtheseed said:You can read Bunyan for free on the internet. Pilgrams Progress only cost $6 or so.

That reminds me of a funny story... I bought Hodge's systematic theology. It's like at least 1/3 in latin!! Doh!Street Preacher said:I listen to Pastor MaCarthur on the net, he has some really good stuff. Some of the stuff I disagree with as well, but it's very detailed theology which doesn't affect his presentation of the Gospel.
Here's a couple of links that have a list of writtings and works by authors I'd suggest: http://www.spurgeon.org/http://aomin.org/
Others: Lorraine Boettner, Charles Hodge, online sermons by Dr. Ian R. K. Paisley (sermonaudio.com), John F. Walvoord, C. I. Scofield (http://www.biblebelievers.com/scofield/)...I could go on.
www.gty.org you can find all of his stuff there...GreenEyedLady said:How do you buy from John?
Is it online somewhere? I use his In the Arms of God book to send out to grieving parents monthly.
