  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but ... in finding my way "back" to God I have read the below verse many times but it has resonated with me so strongly today.
This for me in my simple un-educated way tells me all I need to know. Hope some will understand where I am coming from. The beginning and the end ... for me I feel my own Journey to Christ will always from now stem from the below Verse.

----------

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Who is the Word?

(John 1:1-3, 14) 1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2) He was in the beginning with God. 3) All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 14) And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Who is this Word? We start to find out in the very next verse.

(John 1:15) John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”

Then, down in verses 29 & 30, John reveals of whom he is speaking about in verse 15, the same being the Word in verses 1-3 & 14.

(John 1:29-30) 29)The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30)This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’

John bore witness of the Word (v 15). John said Jesus is the one of which he bore witness(vs 29-30). Jesus is the Word.

So,

(John 1:1-3, 14) 1) In the beginning was (Jesus), and (Jesus) was with God, and (Jesus) was God. 2) (Jesus) was in the beginning with God. 3) All things were made through (Jesus), and without Him nothing was made that was made. 14) And (Jesus) was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus is the Word. The Word is God. Jesus is God.
