• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

OK I don't know if this is the right forum or whatever but I need some advice badly. My question is, does God have a specific career for each of us to have? I want to get my real estate license but I want to do what God wants me to do EVEN MORE. Is there a job asigned to each of us or does God want us to do whatever we want as long as it is good in his eyes? :help:

I don't necessarily know about a career but God has certainly blessed everyone with at least one spiritual gift that he wants us to discover and use for his glory. You very well could pursue a career in something that you really want to do and not necessarily be using your spiritual gift(s), but if you're using those gifts elsewhere in your life, you're still doing as God intended.

Many churches have special counselors whose job is to help you pinpoint your spiritual gifts and guide you in how to use them. If your church does not have such people, do a google search for spiritual gifts. There are several churches with websites that can help.

I myself underwent my SHAPE training a few weeks ago and am now being placed in various ministries based on my SHAPE. I don't know if all of them are for me, but when you find one that's right, you'll feel it. And whatever you get into, if it's not right for you, it's okay. There's no wrong person- only right people in the wrong ministry.

Good luck to you. If you'd like to talk more on this, feel free to PM me.

I don't believe that He has one career that we must go into. My philosophy on this is similiar to my philosophy on soulmates - I don't believe there is just *one* job (or person) I could be happy with, but that there are several jobs (or persons) that I could just about be equally happy with, and just as fulfilled with. ;)

Of course, sometimes God leads us to a particular career path or job sometimes, but sometimes He does not. I don't feel particularly led to any career path, never have. So I'm just studying for a career that will suit my strengths, weaknesses, and personality.

God gives us all not only gifts and talents, but desires and passions. It is always good to pursue these things as long as we are seeking to serve God in everything that we do (and as long as he doesn't specifically tell you NOT to do something!). Pray about it, listen to God, be obedient in the things that you *know* he wants... and all the while you can be doing what you love to do. :)
