Is there any good websites that 'paints' the story of Job? I've started an independant study of it, and find it kind of hard to follow towards the middle and end. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
I don't have any websites to offer but I do like good expositional studies of the wisdom books and I can offer some of my personal views on it.
When Job makes his final defense he is praying, he is pleading with God for mercy, it reminds me of Jesus on the cross saying 'My God My God, why have you forsaken me'.
"I cry out to you, but you do not answer me; I stand up, and you regard me. But you have become cruel to me; with the strength of your hand you oppose me. You lift me up to the wind and cause me to ride on it; You spoil my success..." (Job 30:20-22)
If you want a good study guide for Job I highly recommend Job 31, Job makes his final defense. This is in my opinion the best guide for understanding what exactly his friends were accusing him of. Keep in mind that they were defending the righteousness of God by telling Job he had this coming.
My favorite verses ( I can provide the references if you like and mind you these are being paraphrased), are:
'Oh that you would be utterly silent, that for you that would be wisdom.'
Its like saying, do something intelligent and shut up.
'Surely you are the ones and wisdom will die with you.'
I have been fishing the boards for an expositional study so if there is anything I can do to help just drop me a PM.
