  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Books of the TaNakH

The Hebrew Bible is called the TaNaKh. The letters TNK are an acronym for the three parts of the Bible of Judaism:

  • Ketubim (keh-tu-VEEM) -- The Writings

Listed below are the books of the Tanakh. Three main "headers" show the three divisions of the book spoken of above. Additionally the Prophets section is subdivided into the Former Prophets and the Latter Prophets. The Latter Prophets also include "The Twelve" (Minor Prophets).

One book that is not in the Jewish Canon, at least not in the Hebrew version although it is included in the Alexandrian version, is Tobit, a wonderful read. It may easily be found online or in any public library by looking inside a Catholic bible as Tobit is included in the Septuagint, or Catholic OT.

A segment of Tobit was found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, although in and of itself that means very little.

The ahistorical book of Jewish folklore contains useful teachings on angelology. I mention that since the topic of angels has entered into recent discussion on several threads.

If you are not familiar with Tobit, you will certainly enjoy reading all 14 chapters; 12 or 13 pages.

Blessings
