CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love making jewelry out of beads. I just recently made several pieces.. get lots of compliments on them

wow.........being a hippie and all in my day, I forgot that hemp meant marijuana! What in the world kinda jewelry can be made from hemp? lol lol

Well, if it does catch fire, at first you will panic, then you will get a little giggly, but finally you will get the munchies and have the worse cottonmouth you have ever experienced. So always have abottle of water and a pack of twinkies handy when working with hemp jewelry just in case
Oh, BTW, My hobbie is Gemcutting, and silversmithing. I also do all kinds of lapidary art which is working with rocks and fossils and making jewelry or art out of them. And not to mention collecting mineral specimen. This hobby lifted me out of a real dark place, and I found a real talent in doing so.

I know how it is when you ask God for a distraction in your life... you find out that you actually have a talent! Same thing happened to me. I was very depressed and felt the whole world caving in on me... I asked God for a distraction and out of no where I could draw. I make hemp ankle bracelets with the little bells and colorful beads!!
Hemp isn't pot. I explain it this way: Hemp and pot are related. They are 'cousins', but one is the black sheep and the other isn't You can't get high on hemp. I one time had an argument with a friend of mine. She kept harping on hemp being pot, but I told her, "If that's so, then why does Walmart carry it in their craft dept??"
Hemp was use for making rope, etc thru out history--even the tarps on cover wagons back in the 1800s were make of hemp material. Hemp is suppose to be not as harmful to the environment--you can make paper, etc out of hemp. If we could use hemp for paper, etc, then maybe we wouldn't have to destroy a lot of trees, etc.
I also was led to a distraction in my life to get me out of dark stuff! I make pine needle baskets! Whiterider--I've been thinking about somehow incorporating stones, gemstones into my basket work somehow. Do you do any wirewrapping??? I'm planning on going out to New Mexico soon to see some friends of mine--Dodi, she wirewraps jewely and Don makes sand candles!
I've also learned to flintknap a little. I want to get better at it, though and make some awesome arrowheads out of awesome jasper, obsidian, etc.
