  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jesus said whoever commit sin is the servant of sin. If the world is a servant of sin then sin must have a name other than sin.

The people of the world today that is not saved are a slave to sin. Someone may say breaking God’s law is sin that is true. But who is sin?

The purpose of God law reveals sin, what sin does and how we fall short of keeping God laws. So, who he is sin?

Jesus puts a face on sin in John 8:44 Jesus said to the people who were questioning Him who His father was. Jesus tells them who their father was and their father was the devil. Read John chapter eight to get the full details.

It is a lot easier to win a battle if you know who you are fighting. We will quit beating ourselves (flesh and blood) up and fight the real enemy which is Satan.

The scripture tells us we need to take the whole armor of God to defeat the devil and his power. Jesus put a face on sin. In John chapter eight it would be wise as Christians to take heed to what Jesus said.

In this world, we live in today either Jesus is Lord of people lives or Satan, who is the father of sin.

Many times we try defeating the fruits of sin and not the author of sin. Since we attack the fruits, we are not attacking the father of sin and his devils.

Listen to what Hebrews 2:14 says:

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; Hebrews 2:14

Jesus death, burial and resurrection defeated Satan and his power of death. The wages of sin (Satan) is death. However, the gift of God is eternal life.

Jesus is the He in this verse and went to the cross in a fleshly body with His precious blood flowing through it to die on a cross to defeat Satan. Who name is sin, which is Satan, who has the power of death But Jesus defeated Satan with His Death, Burial and Resurrection.

While that's an interesting concept, I don't find it in my conservative beliefs to be totally accurate.... yes, there is sin, but to say that it is satan ehhhh I don't subscribe to that like that. Maybe satan was the first to sin, and he surely knows all about sin... but when I was sinful, I was not satan, nor had he entered into me, though he may have been my "father" at the time. See my point in the difference?

Who did Jesus redeemed you from?

That's getting into another whole theological discussion. He redeemed us from our sins. You could say he redeemed us from the Heavenly Father's wrath. I do not believe that we were Satan's to be redeemed from him. John 8, as you alluded to in your post, indicates that we are of "our father the devil" because we follow him, not because he owns us. God created us, not the devil. And the devil only has power over us because God allows it, not because the devil has the power to take us away from God.

Satan is the author of sin. That is what Jesus said. When Jesus rebuke Satan
in Peter, what did that mean? Jesus said when you commit sin you are a servant
to sin. He not saying practicing sin. When you sin once is the same as breaking
all the Commandments of God. If you are a slave to sin, then what is sin name.
Satan. People can look well and not be out killing everyone. The bible says
Satan transformed into an angle of light in some people, yet they do not realize it. There are some that do not
believe sin is real and they do not believe there is a God. They may look
morally good. Who told the atheist there is no Gog? Satan did because they are
is servant whether they realize it or not. Satan is the god of this world so
says Apostle Paul.

2 Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are
lost:
2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds
of them which

Who tells the terrorist to do what they do? who told Hitler to do what
he did? Who tell a serial killer to killed? Who tells a parent to beat are kill
their child? The bible says Satan is the man of sin. The bible nowhere speaks
of a sinful nature, at least, I have never seen where it says it. You can infer
that from scriptures. The law of God reveals what sin is and what his name is.
Satan does not make everyone look bad, he makes some look ok he uses them to
deceive others with. And last why would a believer have a problem with
putting a name on whom sin is. The world needs to know that the god of this world
has blinded their eyes. What is the god of this world name? Who is the author of
lies? I believe what Jesus said. And I am overwhelm with joy that Jesus saved me from
Satan and sin.

I think that this type of theology is dangerous because it releases us from the need for self-control. "Satan told me to do it, and he is so powerful I had to" just doesn't cut the mustard. We are responsible for our own actions, even those who are not saved. The law is written on our hearts, so there is no excuse.

I do not believe this relieves a person from the responsiblity of their actions. What it does do is give the person understanding why he/she are doing the things they do whatever that might be. I have counsel with people that struglle horible in their mind with thoughts they hate and cannot stop them and they will beat themselves and try to do all kinds of things to get rid of the thoughts they think. Especially, with manic depression people. Telling them that it is the devil that is putting those thoughtsin their minds, which if not stop turns into action. Sharing with them the gosple of Jesus allowing His light to shine into their minds will open the way to victory for them. It gives them a choice to receive Jesus or reject Him. Some will not receive Jesus, However, many will. Those that do not, it does not matter what you say anyway they will never take responsiblity for the action anyway. They will make excuses and blame somebody anyway. They like Satan control they think he is good to them. Some of them will rob banks and as for as they are concern, that is a good thing until they get caught. Of course they do not realize that it is sin and Satan who is sin himself is behind the secne. The Truth Is What Sets Free.
