Jesus Only

What’s to keep us now from stumbling?
What within us keeps us humbling?
What within us, now revealing,
Keeps us honest, not concealing?

Jesus only, Lord within us,
Cleanse our hearts and from sin frees us.
Death to sin, and now obey Him,
Keeps us pure. We not betray Him.

Faith in Jesus, of the gospel,
Teaches love to God, not hostile.
Follow Jesus where He leads us,
Listening to what His word feeds us.

Love for Jesus, do what He says,
Share the gospel, His word express.
Tell the truth, do not dilute it,
But the lie we now refute it.

Faith in Jesus not words only.
Just in words, it is a phony.
Faith results in perseverance,
Keeps His word with much endurance.

By the power of God within us
We can live as those He freed us.
No more slavery to the idols,
Which, in truth, was suicidal.

Live our lives now by faith in Him,
Read the Scriptures, do not them skim.
Make the Scriptures now our practice,
For that is what God now asks us.

Live for Jesus, holy living,
All your life to Him now give Him.
Tell the truth, refute the liars,
Of the lies, be not a buyer.
