I know why God blesses those who love him; I know what their traits are: success, a peaceful life. I know what it means to love God: to understand his mission in this life, to share the good things they have for us in Heaven. I know why we love God: not through just parroting what it says in psalms or other parts of the Bible but it's about him; it's about our ability to empathize what he felt on the cross; before the cross; that Jesus was thinking of, about this mission that was set before him. He didn't come to Earth *all knowing*, he was just like you and me but he had a drive in his heart to know God. He had a calling in his life. He was dilligently seeking God, as he was the only one of his kind, and we were all supposed to be his gift. We were such a rotten gift that God gave to Jesus. And Jesus was trying to show us how to love each other and God and He was ultimately betrayed and crucified for it.
In another point of view, Jesus was put here for the very truth that a lot of the unsaved loathe to believe: that their existences are vain and the overall meaning is death. And Jesus did this for us so now we are without an excuse to live a life filled with vanity and death. The very crux to a delightful Atheist lifestyle without God is of the epicurean variety. No longer are we born simply to live vain lives and die in the end - never to be heard again - life doesn't end when we die - it just begins. No longer do we have to yearn for what they have; in order to obtain it so we can be happy. We can look forward to Heaven, because we are free from the cares of this world. Thanks to Jesus.
All that is from now until eternity is that we learn about God and his laws so that when we get to Heaven - we don't have to spend long periods of time with him, bonding with him because we already have. We don't have to be educated to learn his statutes and laws because we already learned them.
And what is life for people on Earth? Take a great man for example: The great ones succeed and they leave behind a legacy to forever be remembered. God takes a man with the potential to be great and makes him great on Earth so that his life can be a light that shines to all people around him, beaconing them from the limbo they are sailing in. Take a great man who has no connection to God and demons will turn him into one of the biggest tragedies in the whole world. God and demons are always on the look out for people who have the potential - to either make them amazing or to utterly destroy them. Compare Kurt Cobain and Will Smith for example.
From the point of birth, we are dying. We are not given new life until we know of God, and choose to come to God.
What awaits us in the great white beyond what is visible! Galatians 5 says we should exhibit these virtuous traits: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. I am already exhibiting these traits in my daily life. I'm already there - in heaven. This is coming from an ex-atheist myself. I can guarantee; Just like it says in Matthew, "Seek first the kingdom of Heaven, and the rest will be added to you." This is what there is in Heaven. Can you imagine being there? And the material things we'll get to experience : The new bodies, completely uncorruptible. The new Jerusalem; and it's 12 gates with colors of pearls, and it's 12 different precious stones that make up the pillars, and the streets of gold, see-throughable like glass. The rock from where the river of life flows, those who drink of it will never thirst again. Such amazing things to behold. Simply amazing.
Do we need to worry about ever becoming rebellious to God in that great white, holy beyond? No we don't. It's impossible. As it is our flesh that is corruptible, our flesh is what would lead us to rebel. So why would we have the capacity in our hearts to rebel against God since God is giving us new bodies that would never dream the notion up in our hearts in the first place. It is true. Humans cannot, will not, ever be able to rebel against God in Heaven. In the world beyond this one. It will never happen.
It's the greatest thing I ever did. Was to unplug from this matrix called reality and know what life is really all about. Praise you God in the highest, I am forever yours.
Another thing I think is amazing is that God must exist in dimensions beyond ours: All the way to the 8th dimension. He can influence choices to bring about a favored outcome. He was in the beginning and the end, and in the middle as well. I'm not going to bring physics into this because it can get very ridiculous but that's how I see God.
