  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mankind seems to be in a stupor, unable to appear competent in much.

So... same stuff different day? Lol..

Has mankind ever been competent? Not unless you declare he is quite competent in the ways of sin... this would be true! We just have new means by which to sin, but the motives are exactly the same...

There is no need to wait for such a day, it is already here (Matthew 12:28), in the eternal kingdom of God set up by Jesus at his first coming, which is not physical and earthly (John 18:36), but spiritual, invisible and within (Luke 17:20-21), in the hearts of those where he reigns and rules.

To all:

Some folks do not actually read what I write and they make false assumptions that goes against what I just said. My words stand for all who are able to read them for what they say.

I believe that while Jesus should rule in our lives today (of which I basically stated using other words in the OP), there is going to be a 1,000 year reign of Christ and an New Heavens and New Earth after that whereby the Lamb will be the light thereof.

Revelation 20:4-5 KJV
[4] “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. [5] But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.”

Revelation 21:1-5 KJV
[1] “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. [3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. [5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

Something interesting I heard on Christian radio program recently--that Jesus is not the King of Kings and Lord of Lords yet. Right now, He sits at the right hand of God the Father. It isn't until later in Revelation that He takes the throne. His current position is as our mediator between us and the Father. It isn't until later when we're together with Him that He becomes King.

I am wondering what verses they are basing that idea on. For when I read my Bible, I know that Jesus held all things together by the Word of His power even while upon the cross (Hebrews 1:3). So Jesus is Lord over all things in the creation. Jesus is called Lord, and God by Thomas (John 20:28). Nobody can say Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 12:3).

In fact, Acts of the Apostles 10:35-36 says,
35 “But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ:
(he is Lord of all: )”

In fact, Jesus (Who held all things together by the Word of His power) could have left the cross at any moment. He could have said, “I’m out of here!” and disappeared. He is after all God and all powerful. He could have done anything.

So seeing this is the case, it was not really the nails that was truly holding Jesus on the cross, but it was His love for you, and me.

That is how much the Lord Jesus loves us.

Prophecy is given in riddles (Numbers 12:8) and is subject to more than one interpretation.

Your intepretation of Revelatin 20:4 is in disgareement with authoritative NT teaching, while mine is in agreement with authoritative NT teaching.

However, Jesus is reigning now, putting all his enemies under his feet (Matthew 28:18;
1 Corinthians 15:24-25; Philippians 2:9-10),
and we are reigning with him (Ephesians 2:6).
