  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My name is Kyree Terman! I am from Las Vegas, Nevada originally but I am now going to school at Brigham Young University-Idaho.
I am a Christian. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I want to let you guys know about my belief, testimony, and faith in Jesus Christ.

I am so grateful for the knowledge of knowing that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and that he has suffered all things for ME in specific. And for you, too.
I remember when I came to know Him. I never had a reason not to believe, but I had never had a reason to act on my beliefs, either. When I was 14 I started going to church with my friend. I remember going from what felt like having no love from anyone at all, to knowing of Christ's love for me and the biggest change that had on my heart, and on my life.
"I know that he lovest his children, nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things..." 2 Nephi 11:7. This scripture really speaks to my heart and the experience I went through finding my faith all on my own. I am the only one in my family that is religious in my family, and without Christ by my side, and without the Holy Ghost, I know I would not have been able to withstand all of the temptations thrown at me. Helaman 5:12 states: "And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build, they cannot fall." I know that Christ will help us through ALL things, and we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us!
I add my testimony of Christ to the one already given of Him: "He is the great King Immanuel, who stands today on the right hand of His Father. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine son." I know that He lives, and that he is resurrected standing with the Father. I know this because of the love I feel from Him!

Hi Kyree, Good you came by. I've a friend who became a Mormon and now teaches at what they call the Temple, he's telling me that Jesus is the god of this planet~and that he or even I can, if we are faithful can become god of our own planet.

Now Kyree, this friend will no longer have a beer with me, he no longer smokes weed~but should I think he's taking something, for he's teaching at the temple, is this the teaching? Is this what you've been taught, and believe?
I too believe in Christ but think this is far from Christianity and false teaching.

Also says that Christ was a creation, and not actually God himself.
States that you have to have righteous works in order to be worthy of salvation.
And also teaches that God was a mortal being that achieved higher consciousness on another planet.

3 things contrary to the bibles doctrine.

Welcome but Sorry but you need help. It is God who controls the whirlwinds and the rain. Jesus rebuked the wind and they were amazed that even the winds obey him. Then God sendeth rain on the just and the unjust. You need to rethink your basic approach and realize God controls everything to work out His plan.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints firmly believe that Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God.
I suppose you're referencing that Joseph Smith is a false prophet?

I always like to use the lutheransatire videos to highlight this point.

These videos are designed to mock and not reflective of actual LDS beliefs.
Hi Kyree, Good you came by. I've a friend who became a Mormon and now teaches at what they call the Temple,
Just to clarify: there aren't any Sunday School classes at the Temple. I think you misunderstood what your friend meant.
he's telling me that Jesus is the god of this planet~and that he or even I can, if we are faithful can become god of our own planet.
We, through Christ's amazing sacrifice, can become joint-heirs with Christ. Verses about this: Man, Potential to Become like Heavenly Father And a really good explanation of LDS beliefs about this: Becoming Like God
Now Kyree, this friend will no longer have a beer with me, he no longer smokes weed
Do you feel like you can't hang out with your friend sans getting drunk or high?

Also says that Christ was a creation,
Actual LDS beliefs: Jesus Christ has always existed. Bunch of verses about that: God, Eternal Nature of
and not actually God himself.
He's is 100% divine. He's simply not the Father. Trinitarian believe this too.
States that you have to have righteous works in order to be worthy of salvation.
By "righteous works" that we must accept Christ, have faith, repent, and follow Him? Then yes.

Hi Jane~You know what I asked, Jane~Is that mormon teaching: That Jesus was god of this planet, what is taught? Yes, there are classes, I've been invited to observe. No, when wiring his house, he has mentioned, he really misses coffee, beer and his live long friend came by who he had learned construction with in another state, how he missed the smoking and laughs in years gone by. I told him about Postom ( coffee substitute) he's tried it and hates it.

When we were on the roof nailing shingles, I joking said " this is my favorite planet" at that time he told me the teaching, the belief, his being faithful, I'd heard it before, from a good man. teaches at the high school, we cut firewood together, who had been raised with the mormon story, a good story, but far from Christian.

Far from Christian, god of this planet~

Oh, you're referring to him teaching at the CHAPEL! LDS chapels and temples are two different things. Yeah, there's Sunday School every week at the local chapel, everyone welcome to attend :)

I would highly encourage you to read the Bible verses and other explanatory resources I linked earlier. I feel that it'll help clarify things.
