  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm a big fan of Leftover Salmon. I saw them here in Denver a couple of years ago. Never was a huge fan of Phish or Widespread. Another obscure band that I do like is called Sponge Kingdom. I've always liked the Dead. I am not a Deadhead by any stretch of the word. What I am, though, is a fan of good music. I have one of the many books written about Jerry Garcia. It was a very good read.

It upsets me to hear MMW categorized as a jamband-- just because their music is lightyears beyond the standard "eclectic mix of jazz, rock, funk, bluegrass and [insert style here]" that categorizes the genre-- but oh well, I love them anyways and consider them my favorite. I'm really not into most of the jambands around today-- Phish, SCI, Moe., et al. Phish are fantastic musicians who put on a great show, I kinda wish I could have gotten into them; most of the arrogant, cliquish neohippies I knew in college were nuts about them though and I think that drove me away.

Can't go wrong with the Grateful Dead either, especially ca. 1968-75...
