My government name is Jason Corrigan, I am commonly known as "Brother J" by the God-fam or just simply "J". I was born on January 13,1983. I was raised in a city called Fayetteville in the state of North Carolina. Ages 1-6 spent growing up there until I migrated to Frankfurt, Germany with my family due to orders from the USArmy. I spent 3 years of my life there and moved back to my place of origin and spent ages 9-20 learning about life in a neighborhood called College Lakes. I currently live in a secluded city near the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Some thangs that I enjoy doin are playin streetBall, readin the Word, studyin the Word, and meditating on the Word of God. I like writing lyrics and rapping them as well of course. I started MC'n when I was 14 years old, a couple of my College Lakes-family members and I put together a group and just began to do our thang.

Being an underground MC is very exciting, seasons frequently change. When I began rapping it was simply for the love of the art, but now I win the lost to Christ thru mic's at any cost. I make it a point to do my best at being obedient to the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit when I write songs and as I live my life minute by minute. I choose to enlighten the mind/spirit/soul of those who have been deprived of an eternal relationship with the Lord, by expressing the reality of the existence of Jesus and why He came to earth, as well as equipping and encouraging my fellow Brother's,Sister's,Diciples, and Soldiers in Christ for this life long journey of serving the Lord we're on through my lifestyle and the music ministry of HipHop.

I suppose I will begin with tellin you where I was, and pause for a brief moment to PRAISE GOD!!, for where I am..My whole life I was pretty much raised in the "church-scene”, my religious background was Catholic. In my High-School years I was very active in the church. I was a lector- the person who reads the Bible passages for that Sunday. I was in the leadership role of Chief Squire in the Colombian Squire's- which is a non-profit organization for young Catholic men ages 12-18,and I was a member of the Total Youth Ministry council. I believed in God, but was blind to the fact that I didn't personally KNOW Him. The Holy Scripture's say in James 2:19/"You believe there is one God. Even the demons believe that-and shudder." In high school, I began to drink alot of alcohol and smoke alot of weed, an addiction developed in both areas and it began to destroy my relationship with my family and some of my close friends. One thing that was very disturbing to me was that the people who were right there beside me, rooting me on while I was reading during the masses, protesting abortion, and representing the church at retreats- were nowhere to be found when I needed them the most. When I needed a shoulder to cry on, or redirection from a loving member of God's family, people chose to talk about me behind my back and never confront me to comfort me.

I was out of church for about 7 months after I had graduated in 2001,then I had an urge to be back in that atmosphere, I was longing- thirsting if you will for God and His presence. I went to a different church before I went back to my old church. I went with one of my best friend's and his Mama. It was great, there was something different about this church, besides it being a Baptist congregation, and I just couldn't put my finger on it. It was the love of God, the presence of His Holy Spirit<\\=-So I later found out. The next week I went back to my "old" church, where some were pleased to see me again, while others looked at me with a hateful/disgusted look on their faces. I had returned to the church for God, not for church attendance. My spirit was broken/torn and searching. While I was praying in the pew, two older ladies behind me were making comments along the lines of, "What is he doing back here? I can't believe he is even showing his face..etc." I held back eye-lids full of tears and sat through the mass. The Lord sent one of the old TYM teachers across my path before I got picked up that night; she gave me a big hug and lifted my spirit for the time being.

My spiritual state was that of Psalm 34:18/"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” I walked down the street the next morning which was Sunday and knocked on my friend's door, his Mother answered and I desperately asked her if I could come to church with them. Her response was,"Yeah,SuRe!!".Little did I know that day my name was going to be written in the Lamb's Book of Life. This is the book that contains the names of all those who have put their trust in Jesus Christ to save their souls from hell for all eternity. So I went to church on the morning of January 27,2002 with a brokenness that only Jesus Himself could fix, with a void that only He could fill, with a lifetime of sins that only He could forgive, and a sinful nature only He could crucify. The sermon preached that morning was from the book of Hebrews 5:9-6:8.Everything the Pastor was preachin was comin straight at me. Blam blam-this is for you J, this is about you, its for you-it was the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart and my spirit.

At the end of the service he had us all close our eyes and asked the simple question "If Jesus was to come back today or if you left this parking lot today and were to die, do you know where you would go? Would you be in Heaven or Hell? Raise your hand if you’re sure you would be in Heaven."-As I began to raise my hand with security, it began to shake, as it was shaking I was questioning myself-"ArE YoU sUrE Jason??"-After that I began to feel guilt/shame because I doubted and I had lied in a cHuRcH of ALL places! I mean you shouldn't be lyin anyway, Jesus can see right through to our hearts. So then as I put my hand down my whole body began to shake and shiver as I was still questioning my eternal destination. Then the Pastor spoke of something I had never heard of before, Salvation, and accepting Jesus Christ as your Personal Lord & Savior, he made an invitation to come down to the altar, and you better believe I hopped up outta my seat before he even finished his sentence.

And before I passed two rows of pews, I burst into tears, my face covered in them- the Pastor placed his hand on my shoulder and gently said, “What Can I do for you my brother?”, I wanted to tell him, I wanna get saved and give my life to Jesus, but I couldn't even speak. I was still shaking, I came to find out later on down the road that this was what is called the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Which is one of the many actions that the Holy Spirit operates in to show us the reality of our sinful state. And that you are separated from a true relationship with God unless you confess your sin and turn to Jesus for the forgiveness of them and the gift of eternal life that He alone offers to all mankind. ROMANS 10:9/"That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

This process is commonly known as being "Born Again"...John 3:3/ "In reply JESUS declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”. After this the next week I was baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit..ROMANS 6:3-4/"Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

The reason I listed "things" I used to DO-in the beginning is because it is very important that we know that NoBoDy can earn their way into Heaven, its impossible. We have to come to the realization to accept that we are all sinners by birth seperated from God. Accept that Jesus is who He claims to be, the Son of God and Savior of this world. We must believe that Jesus came down from Heaven and was tempted in every way as we are, but that He alone walked this very planet that we're livin in and lived the sinless life as our example to follow. To restore us to a right relationship with God, Jesus was crucified, died, and was resurrected from the dead for the punishment of all mankind's sin through out all history. Confess that, ask Him for forgiveness and to come and live in our hearts and guide us throughout our lives. It’s not about religion and what denomination you rep. It’s not about rules and regulations and man made expectations, it’s about relationship and experiencing Jesus for yourself. He wants to be known by all. Sorry it is so long, I had a lot on my heart, Peace, love, God's grace, and guidance.

Your Brother in Christ,
J
