  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

ive recently been going through alot of things and yesterday and this morning were really rough on me.

but im learning something that is so good, that its not my fight. that the battle is the Lords!

the devil tries to trick me into making this my fight, he tries to press me and press to get me to make this my fight. to get me to struggle with him and resist him and try to keep myself holy... all by myself.

but im learning that the key to victory is in the name of Jesus! NOT MY DESIRE OR PERSEVERANCE!

see we need perseverance! but perseverance without the authority of Jesus name acting on our lives will only leave us weary and depressed and discouraged! becuase we wont win!

if we rebuke the devil in Jesus name, he has to go. and if we stand on the rock of Jesus name we will win, becuase the bible says we ALWAYS triumph in Christ!

our perseverance doesnt make the authority and power of God work in our lives.
the authority of Jesus name and the unseen power of God, makes our perseverance effective!
PRAISE GOD!

this is not my fight, and i wont fight this fight, but i claim the name of Jesus and i command the devil to go in Jesus name, and in Jesus name i bind every power and strong hold in my life, and in Jesus name ill be victorious!
with that mindset, my perseverance works.
Jesus will fight this fight for me!

So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. (Romans 9:16 NKJV)

It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy. (NIV)

When our strength to keep Jesus' words is exhausted, and when our will to be truthful to Jesus is near its end, our Lord comes to our rescue speedily, and carries us on his mercy into his rest and peace.

Who will regret this training since we learned the Lord's mercy? Only the name of Jesus be lifted. Amen.

After reading these encouraging posts I am reminded of what happened before Joshua went into Jericho.

Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man sanding in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?"
"Neither," he replied, " but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, "What message does my Lord have for his servant?"
The commander of the LORD's army replied. "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy." And Joshua did so.
...
then the Lord said to Joshua, "See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its kind and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men....." (Joshua 5:13-15 and 6:2-3)

Here we have an angel, the commander of the Lord's army, an Angel of the Lord who some say might be God appearing in human form. Joshua is in awe and takes off his sandals. All well and good, but the part which always reaches me is that this is happening before the battle. The commander of the Lord's army is telling Joshua that the battle is already won. "See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands..." The victory has been won...now it is just necessary to obey and march around the city with shouts of praise blowing the ram's horn. The walls of what was considered an invincible city then fall.

And so it is when we face a battle. The Lord tells us victory in Him is ours. With humility, reverence, praise, prayer, and obedience the victory belongs to us because the battle was won by Jesus on the cross-- the battle has already been won by the Lord... :) The enemy is defeated!

amen amen and amen!

this is truely changing me, when temptation comes im learning the key to victory is not to just dig deep inside and resist with all my might, but the key is to loose the power of God in my life by saying things like "devil i rebuke you in Jesus name" " i take authority over this in the name of Jesus and cast it down" becuase its not my fight to win. and the power and authority of Jesus name makes the devil flee, not my will power. i know that when i excercise the authority invested in me, becuase of Jesus, the devil must go! and when i say the name of Jesus, its an invitation that God cant refuse!

i feel like im a tree being slowly wittled down the more i fight and fight on my own, and i eventually fail.
but in Jesus, casting my cares on him, and using the power of Christ in my life, drawing from his strength, AND TRUSTING THAT HE WILL SEE ME THROUGH, i will be victorious!

Yes, I agree...the key to victory lies in the power and authority of the Name of Jesus AND in our obedience to God's Will. Like Joshua who had the victory in faith and obeyed in action as he led his army to march around the city. He was used by God. He could have refused to do what the Lord told him to do because he had free will, just like we can refuse to be obedient to God's will. He believed God's Word and chose to follow through. He exemplifies the character of a great leader who relied on the Lord and did not just strive to do things on his own. :amen:

Exodus 14:13-14 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

2 Chronicles 20:15-17 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

2 Corinthians 2:14 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

That is awesome that we have the Lord to fight the fight for us and that the Lord will indeed succeed. This is His fight and not ours. That is why we have the Lord.
