• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Its hard to see yourself like God sees you. I am coming to terms with the commitment I need to have as a Christian. You may be saved, but we are expected to do good works as fruit of that. Or else we are luke warm which is not good:(
Also in that mix is the area of Gods love. Which I haven't fully grasped. Its easy to beat myself up, more than anything else:(
I'm feeling quite down about it all. I am trying to reach out, and not think of me.

I definitely understand where you're coming from! Just know that it does not matter what you feel right know. It doesn't matter if you are having a difficult time trusting in the Lord currently. God STILL loves you. And He always will. Oh, and by the way, the fact that you are having these doubts just show that you really are struggling and trying to grow as a Christian, which you deserve credit for. Trust in the Lord, for He will never leave you.
Try not to beat yourself up too much (easier said than done), and you will feel better soon enough. Praying for your wellbeing.

Dear Jo,

The challenge we depressed people are facing is to internalise God's love first of all, because when we are empty and forlorn then we need first more of God's love inside before we can externalise it. So soak in God's love for yourself Jo and constantly confirm His love over you and thank Him for it, and then begin to hand it out as the opportunities arise.

It is no good to beat yourself up about it it though this will only put more unloving feelings into you and wont help one little bit.

To be loved and to love back in return is the challenge God puts to you.
