Don't worry, I'm not going to commit suicide, or do something to get myself killed. This doesn"t have anything to do with "physical" death, it's all about conviction.
Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:31 that he dies to himself daily. Every day he would convict himself and die to sin, to be risen back to life in Christ. The key word here is "daily". We need to, every day, go to God with our sins. We need to lay them on the table, own up to them, and ask for his forgiveness. This isn't so God knows what we've done, He already knows. We need to do this so we can see what we've done, move on, and grow from it. Once you get into a habit of this, you'll find that even things you don't realize you are doing wrong will come to light.
None of us are exempt from this. None of us are perfect. We all have our issues, and we all make mistakes. Romans 3:23 tells us that WE ALL SIN, and WE ALL FALL SHORT of God's standard. Lucky for us, we have a VERY understanding God who is willing to forgive us, be merciful, and renew us on a daily basis.
