  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It's a choice, is it?

And keep it locked up? Staying in the closet can be harder on the psyche of a homosexual man or woman than anything else. The idea that being gay is a choice is ridiculous. The idea of it being a sin is fairly ridiculous for the same reason. Because gays and lesbians go through so much discrimination and hatred and for very little to no reward. If it were a choice, they would drop it the first ten times they get called a <staff edit>. They don't. They live through it, sometimes, knowing that they can't change.

No, keeping it on the inside isn't what is hard on the person. It isn't hiding it from everyone. Oh yes, that is worrisome, it does become annoying, but it just doesn't compare. Really, what compares to knowing the people walking around you would try to kill you, maybe rape you, because of who you are. You never hurt anyone but they hurt you, yet you are the evil one. And when everyone agrees, everyone, if they truly knew you, would spit of you, heck, you would consider it lucky if they just spat on you all the time, then you begin to see the true drain. I just wonder why this hasn't driving more homosexuals to outright hate, and then kill, those around them?

Of course that can be worse. But encouraging them to lie? Then you still have to be worried, not that someone will find out but also that someone will find out and kill you.

I agree with you, it is not a choice. I wish everyday of my life that I was heterosexual. I've thought about dating men. However, it can't because it would be deceitful to my self and the man. It is unfortunate that people have to go through such abuse with something they can not control

One- not everyone hates us because of our sexuality, although it is worse in some parts of the world.
Two- we're better than that.
I'm lucky in that I've never encountered any hate because of my sexuality, but it's terrible that not being attacked because I'm behaving with my girlfriend in the same way that straight couples behave contitutes 'being lucky' in the first place.

Yes, most people are better than that, but people fall, and the attitudes I see many give homosexuals only encourages them to. Luckily though, not everyone hates you, which is probably the reason that doesn't happen.
