• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As several people have now reminded you, if you wish a discussion on the morality of abortion, then start your own!

You keep ignoring the fact that this blog mentions ethics and morality: Are you purposely ignoring this?

"It should be Murder?
Discussion in 'Ethics & Morality' started by SteveB28, Dec 28, 2015."

No! Because I have no evidence that she is lying. No evidence = no chance of conviction!

You don't have evidence, but the authorities might be able to find something out. Let's say she says "Oh, my kid fell down the stairs and died. We went and buried him in the family plot." You wouldn't tell anyone because you don't have evidence that she's lying? Miscarriages happen, sure, but the ones who are lying will never get caught if there's never an investigation!

By justifying the killing of innocent unborn babies, you become accomplices to the commission of a crime.
I said forced abortion. Please just answer the simple question instead of throwing irrelevant shade.

I do understand the question. What I don't understand is you answer!
Legal personhood is not a scientific matter. It is, quite literally, the question of when we as a society decide to grant a human with certain legal rights. Some are granted at viability or birth. Others are instead tied to the concept of legal adulthood.

A ten year girl is raped and falls pregnant. You would be happy to force this girl by law to carry the baby to full term?

I have no power to force anyone to carry a baby to term. All I can do is provide a moral answer if requested! Right now the law protects abortionists and murderers.

A friend of mine, who is a physician, told me that a patient of his demanded an abortion past the point of viability. He reported this to the authorities, and the woman was incarcerated until the baby was born.

This is a different case, because it is illegal to bury someone without a physicians death certificate.

Would you or would you not vote in favor of a law that would require a young rape survivor to carry to term?

A law like that must exist. Did you miss the example I provided:

"A friend of mine, who is a physician, told me that a patient of his demanded an abortion past the point of viability. He reported this to the authorities, and the woman was incarcerated until the baby was born."

Suicide is sort of illegal. Of course, victims of suicide cannot be prosecuted and people who attempt suicide will not be arrested and tried

They should! Those who succeed in their suicide attempt should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and subjected to the death penalty.
