  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Actually people here indulge a lot in politics (national pastime)and we know our politicians. After all they are only 300. We know their scandals and wrongdoings and are very upset that they protect each other from prosecution. From the Communist party to the right wing party; they all are one gang. Just like Jesus got fed up and took the whip so shall we do the same to them.

Imagine everyone protesting together against the politicians. From the elderly to the young, from the left to the right.

It is high time for a revolution!

Please don't put me on ig -- I sincerely enjoy reading your barbs.

They are in a class all their own and contain a rather sizable amount of entertainment value; especially when you make rookie errors.

Yes, some hurt; but it's toughened me up over the years.

On the other hand, one person does have me on ig, and I can't say how refreshing that is to be able to say things w/o her [style of] rebuttal.

So I've read both of those articles, and I doubt I'm saying anything new here. Steen-Macintyre was not in charge of that archaeological expedition, she was simply a grad student at the time. Grad students are, much to my own dismay, pretty much glorified assistants. Saying that she was a well respected archaeologist at 1966 and that it was 'her' team is incorrect. Also, her career was not ruined in the field, as she went on to publish several more articles, though she did not enjoy a tremendous amount of success. The analyses at that site are still being studied today, and, from what I can tell (although I am not an archaeologist, anthropologist, geologist, etc.) it seems as if the site is complex and has many confounding factors that have influenced the testing. Jro, I do not know if you knew what you were doing or not when including this article but I want to thank you whole heartedly for it.

I am somewhat surprised because it seemes to me you are disagreeing with me on my premise in this thread , and trying to refute it or help me to see where I was wrong (and I totally respect that if you are). BUT to me, this article embodies ALL that I have been saying. I do see things much clearer now, in many ways but I am MORE convinced of my suspicions now than ever.

I am not trying to gloat here but rather, explain that I feel such a sense of relief within my self to read something that actually explains so competently what I have feebly been trying to convey in this thread. It answers so much for me and confirms my suppositions. You know ... when you have so many who argue against you and then you find a much better argument and it is for your side... it just feels good.

I read the whole article (16 pages) and I hope others will, also. Perhaps then they will be able to see that I am not trying to malign the whole field of science but I am also, not seeing it only through rose colored glasses.

This was a good article and in no way was it written to attack or harm science but it helped me to see more of how science works from the side of those here on this forum (often my opponants) and I hope others will see it from my perspective... because I think it presents both sides well.

Yes. Firstly, I personally don't know if they do or not. So why I would be asked to answer it. Secondly, I was NEVER asked so I don't know why they are waiting for me to answer the question. Thirdly, it's a loaded question. Three strikes you're out. It doesn't deserve to be answered.
