  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The first eleven chapters of Genesis deal with the human race from Adam to Abram, 2083 years. The remaining 39 chapters of the first Book of the Bible and all of the other thirty-eight Books, from Genesis to Malachi, deal with the one people, Israel, the children of Abraham; and only such other nations and individuals as had dealings, during those centuries, with Israel.

This is likewise true concerning the contents of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. In this connection note Romans 15:8, Matthew 15:24 and John 1:11.

“Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.”
“He answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
“ He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.”

We quoted Romans 9:5 concerning Christ and Israel, “of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, Who is over all, God blessed for ever.” Here we learn the truth, that God was a Jew on this earth for about 33 years. Christ was born King of the Jews. Matthew 2:2. Christ was saluted “King of Israel.” John 1:49.

Note Christ’s instructions to His twelve Jewish messengers. “These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Matthew 10:5 and 6.

“But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another; for verily I say unto you, ye shall (may) not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.” Matthew 10:23.

Plain instructions these, “go not into the way of the Gentiles”, the children of Adam. “Go to the children of Abraham.” “Ye may not have gone over the cities of Israel till the Son of man be come.”

Then note again, those twelve apostles remained in Jerusalem. Acts 8:1. Those twelve apostles are yet to sit upon twelve thrones and judge the twelve tribes of Israel. Matthew 19:28.

After the twelve apostles had preached in Jerusalem something happened. In the Jerusalem temple the Apostle Paul was met by the Lord Jesus Christ. Note what happened

“And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance; and saw Him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.” “And He said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.” Acts 22:17-18 and 21.

A new movement this. Christ spoke to Paul:
“I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.”

Note Galatians 2:7:
“But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter.” No such program had ever been carried on before. This man of God, who was born out of due time (I Corinthians 15:8), received orders from the Lord Jesus Christ to go to uncircumcised Gentiles with “the gospel of the uncircumcision.”

Then Paul made known the truth of Romans 4:9 and 10 and Galatians 3:8, the fact that Abram was declared righteous by faith, years before he was circumcised. That was 430 years before the law was added.

“And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.” Galatians 3:17.
“Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom, the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.” Galatians 3:19.

This truth, that Abram was declared righteous by faith, without works or religion, when he was Abram and not Abraham, 24 years before he was circumcised. and 430 years before God gave the law to Israel, was revolutionary truth when Paul went forth to proclaim it. Genesis 12:1 to 6, Genesis 15:4 to 8, Galatians 3:8, Romans 4:9 to 11.
Since the time of Genesis 17:10-17, no uncircumcised Gentile could have fellowship with God or His people. God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. Acts 7:8.

A NEW MESSAGE

But now what? Christ, by revelation, gave Paul a new message. Galatians 1:11 and 12. What did Paul do? He went up to Jerusalem.

“And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I - preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.” Galatians 2:2.

When Paul went up to Jerusalem he did not receive his gospel from those who were apostles before him. “But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter.” Galatians 2:7. Do not lose the force of “But contrariwise”. Then and there Peter and the other Jewish disciples of Christ learned that Paul had received a new and different message. It was not that any one had ever been, or ever would be, saved apart from the shed blood of the. Lord Jesus Christ. But in the Lord’s revelation to Paul He told him why Abram, the heathen, was justified in uncircumcision.

Note again Galatians 3:8—“And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.” Abram was 75 years old when he was called by God. Genesis 12:1 to 5.

Note Genesis 15:6:
“And he believed in the Lord; and He counted it to him for righteousness.” Genesis 15:6.

Then note Genesis 17:13, 14 and 24:
“He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised; and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. And the uncircumcised man-child, whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken My covenant.” “And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.”

All of this is so important for us to know, if we are to understand Galatians 2:7.
When Abram was called and justified years before he was circumcised and became “Abraham”, the Scriptures foresaw the new message and ministry that Paul was to receive by revelation from Christ to inaugurate “the dispensation of grace.” The Scriptures foresaw that God would declare heathen righteous by faith, without circumcision or religion, during the time the circumcision people were set aside. Although the Scriptures foresaw this, no man foresaw it. Paul learned it by revelation. He went forth to proclaim “the gospel of the. uncircumcision”. But everywhere he went other missionaries followed him and preached the gospel of the circumcision.

“And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.” “But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.” Acts 15:1 and 5.

“Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment.” Acts 15: 24.

In spite of that conference and the important decisions there reached, the zealous, religious preachers continued to mix law and circumcision with grace.

Note Paul’s words—“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel; Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” Galatians 1:6 and 7.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is debtor to do the whole law.” “Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision availeth anything.” Galatians 5:1 to 3 and 15.

Concerning these religious missionaries with their perverted gospels, Paul wrote:
“And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. I would they were even cut off which trouble you.” Galatians 5:11 and 12.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE

In Genesis 17:10 to 17, we learn that those who did not preach and practice circumcision were to be cut off. In Galatians, we learn that those who did preach and practice circumcision were to be cut off. What is the explanation? Different Divine economies, with different Divine programs. The Greek text of Philippians 1:10, is, “test things that differ.”

Another example, note Colossians 2:16—“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days.”

What would have happened to any man who had preached such a doctrine while Israel was under the law, from Moses to John the Baptist? He would have been stoned to death. Jesus Christ Himself was made under the law. Galatians 4:4. No one was authorized by Him to preach Colossians 2:16 while He was on earth.

Paul wrote to members of the Body of Christ “For as we have many members in one Body, and all members have not the same office; So we, being many, are one Body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” Romans 12:4 and 5.

“For sin shall not have dominion over you; for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Romans 6:14.

In closing this message, let us compare Romans 15:8 and Luke 2:21, Luke 4:16 and Matthew 5:17, with Paul’s words in Galatians 2:7, Romans 11:13 and Romans 1:14.

CONCERNING JESUS ON EARTH

“Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.” Romans 15:8.

“And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, His name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before He was conceived in the womb.”

“And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.”

“Think not that I am come to destroy, the law or the prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.”

CONCERNING PAUL’S MINISTRY

“But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter.”

“For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office.”

“I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.”

A great difference between “the Minister to the circumcision” and “the apostle to the Gentiles.”

There is absolutely nothing in that verse that even remotely suggests that the gospel that Paul was given was in any way different than that given to the original Apostles.

In fact, it is clear that Paul was concerned that his gospel might have been contrary to theirs, and thus in error, for he went PRIVATELY to the apostles (those of repute) to make sure he had NOT been running (preaching) in vain.

He was seeking the approval of the original Apostles regarding the Gospel he was preaching.

There is nothing in that verse to suggest that it was in any way different than theirs.

To the contrary, little flower...read the rest of the passage. Its made VERY clear that the two had different messages and that Peter and the boys RECOGNIZED it and made the distinction....as YOU are to do!

In its context, It is talking about false brethren that came to put those under Pauls gospel BACK under the gospel of Peter, and thus into bondage. See verse 4 in Gal. 2 and we will pick up with verse 5 as to Pauls solution to this.

"But WE (those believing Paul and HIS gospel of GRACE) did not yield in subjection to THEM (those who were trying to get them to go BACK under Peters LAW gospel) for even an hour, so that the truth of THE gospel (referring to Pauls gospel here as he is the author) might remain with you.

Picking up with verse 7:
"But on the CONTRARY..seeing that I (Paul) had been entrusted with the gospel to the UNcircumcised, just as Peter with the gospel to the CIRCUMCISED ( I count TWO gospels here)"
Verse 8
"(for He who effectually worked for Peter in HIS apostleship to the circumcised effectually worketh for me also to the Gentiles.) TWO apostleships shown here....Paul NOT part of the TWELVE.

Verse 9
"And RECOGNIZING the grace that had been given TO ME, James Peter and John, who were reputed to be pillars , gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, (and here is where the TEXT tells you what they agreed TO) that WE (Paul and his followers of the GRACE message) might go to the Gentiles, and THEY (Peter and the twelve) to the circumcised.

So, as you can SEE, Peter and the boys ACKNOWLEDGED that what Paul preached WAS indeed DIFFERENT...know how I know? Because Peter and the boys were told "to go to NONE but the JEW ONLY". They didnt HAVE a commission to go to Gentiles!

John, your version of the gospel is flawed, based on errouneous understandings of the verses you use. The scripture does not present a flawed gospel.

The scripture presents MANY gospels...However, the main TWO are the gospel of the CIRCUMCISION and the gospel of the UNCIRCUMCISION. One to the JEW, one to the Body of Christ.

Many preach the Wrong gospel today, including yourself. God put the Kingdom program ASIDE temporarily when He ushered in the "preaching of Jesus Christ ACCORDING to the Mystery"

Ive noticed two things you dont discuss much...the BODY OF CHRIST and the MYSTERY.

I would say that if anyone is preaching an "erroneous" gospel, tis NOT John!

eph, there is no such distinction other than in the vain imaginations of those who think there is and so read into scriptures what they desire to find there, ignoring all that contradicts them. :(

In fact, the scriptures say to let those who preach any other gospel, even if it be an angel from heaven, let them be accursed.

There is only one Gospel.

Eph3nine misses the "Mystery" totally, by her own confession of not being born again. The old Adam cannot understand the things of the Spirit, for they are spiritually understood.

The "Mystery" whom Paul preached, by his own trestimony was the Son of God, who every born again person in Christ witnesses to, by His spirit in them.

Every born again person in Christ is "Hid with Christ in God"
Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Every born again person in Christ is Hid with Christ in God and will "Appear in glory with Him when "He appears".

Col 3:4 When Christ, our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

"The LORD of glory is the Mystery Hidden", which Paul testifies to "speaking", in 1 Cotinthians 2:7,8

This is totally true. but truth is not what the persons preaching MAD want from Scripture, and I say that because Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life, but they have a different doctrine they got from men in modern times who teach contrary to Jesus, as Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and The Life and the testimony of the mouth of the one who is in Him and He in them.

Instead of witnessing to "knowing" Jesus by personal revelation, by His Spirit in them testifying and giving glory to the Salvation they would have known if they would have received Him, they point to the doctrines of men who say they use Paul's teachings but they contradict Paul in every verse they use.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. ROMANS 1:16

He came unto His own and His own received Him not, But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God, to them that believe on His name

His own were the Nation Israel, and THEY received HIM NOT. See what you miss by not allowing scripture to tell you who is being addressed and when???

Today, we are not saved by believing on His NAME. GASP...thats right! The JEWS were told to believe on HIS NAME as their MESSIAH...WE in the body of Christ today, who are NOT born again, but MADE NEW CREATIONS IN CHRIST, are told to believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as sufficient to reconcile us to God. PERIOD.

This fanciful "spiritual sounding" rhetoric of what WE do instead of what GOD has already DONE in order to be saved is nothing short of "preaching another gospel" which Paul warns us of.

John, your version of the gospel is flawed, based on errouneous understandings of the verses you use. The scripture does not present a flawed gospel.

_______
You assert, but do not argue(reasons for a conclusion) in your response.

Then please enlighten me as to what is "erroneous" of my "understanding of the gospel outlined in 1 Cor. 15:1-4?:

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:..." 1 Cor. 15:1-4

Where did I say that "the scripture....presents a flawed gospel"? The only way that you can conclude that, is if you presume, in your "argument" ,that there is only one "the gospel" in scripture. And my argument is that there is not. And I presented scripture to you evidencing that "the gospel of the kingdom" preached prior to the cross is not equivalent to 1 Cor. 15:1-4. And hence, my question to you. Please show me as I asked.

My comment:

Tell us what you are asserting, here, Enoch. Are you asserting that "being born again" is equivalent to being saved, being justified, and thus, you assert that eph3nine is not saved/justified? Let's go.

"The" English of the Holy Bible shows your works based, "ask Jesus into my heart" Lordship salvation to be without any biblical support.

"The Greek.......blah blah blah....."=I have my false doctrine, now I will find some authority out there, "the Greek" ,since I have no final authority, I have competing "final" authorities, and accept extra-biblical revelation, whether it be a "new revelation", "the book of Enoch"......................

You cite "the Greek", when you cannot understand English? Good one. What does "the Enoch" say?

By her own admission, John, she didnt have to BELIEVE "any" gospel to be saved! I would like for her to explain just how THAT happens?
Did she believe and call upon the Name of the Lord?
Oooops. Looks like some Jews in Ezekiel 39 didn't call on the Name of the Lord as told by Jesus and Paul.

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass [That] whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be Saved.'
Luke 21:27 "Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 "Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your Redemption draws near."
Ezkeiel 39:12 "For seven months the house of Israel will be burying Them, in order to Cleanse/purify the land. 13 "Indeed all the people of the land will be burying, and they will gain renown for it on the day that I am glorified," says the 'Adonay Y@hovih.

Little lamb....calling on the name of Jesus isnt what saves folks today. It DID when that criteria was called for in times PAST, and amongst JEWS, but the plan has CHANGED TODAY!

We are in the age of GRACE...new apostle, new information, for a NEW CREATION. If you want to be saved under Gods economy TODAY, its NOT a matter of calling upon His name, but in BELIEVING in His death, burial and resurrection on YOUR behalf as being sufficient to reconcile you to HIMSELF...thereby placing you, NOT in ISRAELS program but, into the BODY OF CHRIST which is Gods SECRET REVEALED.

NO One is saved today by simply calling on His NAME. This misunderstanding is what comes from NOT studying the Bible as God intended, and from taking from ISRAEL things that are hers alone and applying them to yourself. IT is called "RELIGION"...or the "traditions of men".

The gospel that God intends for you to BELIEVE is found in Pauls epistles.

One needs to stop TALKING long enough to LISTEN..."Faith (true SAVING FAITH) comes by HEARING, and HEARING by the Word of God"....

Dont be lulled into a false sense of security, dear one. From your own lips , you have stated that you dont KNOW WHAT the gospel that saves today IS! Focus on THAT, and then we will be on the same page, and able to fellowship together in TRUTH. We care about you...you are simply trusting in something that NO LONGER saves in this dispensation!
