Why isn't the cross enough?
Oh how I wish I could make you see,
The illusion that separates you and me,
That traps our minds we think are so free,
And keeps us confined by our hearts decree.
No mountain of ice, no field of war,
No indestructible barred, locked door.
Just a posture of anger and unsettled score.
We, seemingly, are entrenched forevermore
We are the enemy that divides our souls,
In persistent struggle for each hearts control,
Wanting to be right more than to be whole,
Forgiving nothing, forgetting the goal.
Though we cling to the Cross with one tired hand,
We beat at each other with hot flaming brands,
Attacking the brethren, snubbing Gods plan
Ignoring the love that is His command.
Oh my dear, loved friend, forget our mean past!
Put aside old dead grudges, and anger outcast.
Give me your hand as we mend our hearts fast,
Forgiving each other, loving every one to the last.
