I'm looking forward to one thing this year - the holidays being over.... Second Christmast w/o my wife...

So tonight I'm sitting here surfing the web (love wireless) watching this movie called "A Very Married Christmas". Low and behold, a movie about two restored marriages.

Not sure what to make of that... other than to be grateful for the chance to watch it, to enjoy the spirit of the movie, and to know that restorations happen every day.

Blessings,
bkg

Same here. Not trying to blow things out of proportion, but it's quite possible this will be the last Christmas I spend with my wife and kids as a family. Still no change - she's probably going to file for divorce before Christmas. This really stinks. I'm still praying that both of us have changed hearts and we restore our marriage. All I know is that this will be the third Christmas where bad things have happened. Christmas eve 2002, I was asked to leave the house which was a complete, utter surprise. Christmas #2, serious talk of divorce which of course destroyed the holiday. This year, I'm not falling for the same old trap. My kids will have a wonderful time as we celebrate Christ's birth! All the bad stuff can wait until after Christmas this year!

Wow, what a great attitude, Southern Cross! Good for you. Yes, I pray that all of you will have a blessed Christmas this year...you all deserve it!

The holidays are pretty bittersweet for me. It's wonderful, because I'm thoroughly enjoying watching my daughter experience her first holiday season (she saw the Christmas tree for the first time this morning...didn't think she was going to stop staring at it!), yet the death of her father is still pretty heavy on our hearts. I know God will bless...He always does!

Please know that you all are on my heart as we continue through the season. I know that for me, every year the truth of what we are celebrating hits me harder and harder...I pray that it is the same for you all this year...that we will be so focused on Christ's birth and all that it represents, we'll forget to hurt!

Hang in there, guys...let's keep "venting" to each other on here so that we don't take out our pain on our families..lol

Hi Guys,I agree with Manna...let's keep our heads up...remember the reason for the season..and find the things we do have to be thankful for...for health and happiness...for our children (if you have them) and for the life of our s/o...because with life there is hope...death is final and then you know you can never be with that person again...God bless!!!

Well, there is no hope for restoration of my former marriage as he has entered into the covenant of marriage with the woman he cheated on me with and they have children together. Blah...Christmas does make me feel sad sometimes. Especially since the anniversary of our divorce is December 1st. Four years. We would have been together a total of eleven years at this point if we were still together.

I can remember how that felt when I went through a similar time after my seperation from my ex. Hang in there brother. God has not forgotten your situation.
In the well known passage where God provides Abraham with a ram for his sacrifice instead of his son Isaac. In that passage, is the hebrew term usually translated Jehovah-jireh "God our provider" . But what it really means literally is "God sees" or "God is watching" as in God is paying attention. The provision part is automatic or considered understood by the fact that God is watching.
In Exodus when the israelites groaned under their labor and the oppression of the egyptians , there is a verse that says , then God remembered his people.
I am quite sure God has not forgotten your situation. As you "groan" under your trials , keep in mind that God will eventually "remember" your suffering too. God is watching closely and your answer will come at just the right time.
