  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I want to understand about this passage. I want to know who cannot read and learned from verse 11 and 12 verse. Who is he?

11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith,I cannot; for it is sealed:

12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forsasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

I don't know either, but here is a commentary. Maybe it will be helpful.

9-12. A rebuke to the spiritually blind countrymen of Isaiah. Translate verse 9: Tarry and be amazed; blind yourselves and be blind; they are drunken ... As the drunkard could have avoided his besotted condition by abstaining from liquor, so these who had blinded themselves with the folly of sin and unbelief could have avoided their condition. 10. The Lord ... hath closed your eyes. Judicial blinding was the natural result of their initial turning away from God's revealed will. Even the professional prophets had lost contact with God and had no more message from him. 11. A book that is sealed. The Bible and the oracles of the true and faithful prophets of God remained incomprehensible and irrelevant to the "modern men" of the eighth century, who felt that they had advanced beyond their forefathers' outmoded submission to the authority of God's revelation. Having therefore no absolute authority outside themselves and their reason, they could not make head nor tail of God's message to them through Scripture.
Verses 13-16 announce God's sentence of judicial blinding upon all who would deceive with sham piety or feigned submission. A mere commandment of men (ASV; precept, AV). A mere intellectual principle taught by moral philosophy is no satisfactory substitute for true surrender of heart. Their fear of me (ASV), or piety, was a mere artificial form, and sprang from no sincere love of God for his own sake. What knowledge they retained of spiritual truth would be taken from them until they were left with nothing but barren agnosticism or heathen superstition. 15. Hide deep their counsel (ASV). The Jews were carrying on secret intrigues with pagan allies, to whose military strength they were looking for deliverance, rather than to Jehovah. 16. Turning of things upside down. They were attempting to reverse true values, putting man at the top of the scale and God at the bottom, and supposing that the thing created matters more than the Creator.

The Jerusalemites’ spiritual insensitivity was in itself a judgment from God. The people were told to blind themselves but the Lord also caused the blindness. The fact that the prophets and the seers did not see and understand clearly was part of God’s judgment. They did not understand God’s revelation about His judgment on the Assyrians that Isaiah recorded on a scroll. No one, either people who could read or those who couldn’t, could understand this truth.
