Christ assured us that many would seek to enter in and not be able. Some seek admission to eternal happiness without conversion or faith in our Savior. Others seek for blessings in a slothful manner or in ways not taught by God.
Most often it is delay which keeps people from entering in until they no longer are able. They do not begin to seek God in earnest until it is too late.
While life lasts, the Master of the house (Jesus Christ) sits at mercy's gate over which it is written," Knock and it shall be opened to you," but at length he rises up and closes the door.
Many who have heard of Christ began to knock and to seek salvation but it was too late and the door was shut. Let us strive to enter in at the strait gate.
How dreadful will be the disappointment of those who hoped and intended to enter but carnal motives delayed them until it was too late and the door was closed.
Let us accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, today not tomorrow. Then as we knock the door will be open to us....Doc
