No, it's not a sin. Don't worry so much about what you are wearing. God sees your heart. How you look isn't as important as letting people see you love the Lord.

I was wondering.. is it a sin to wear makeup, wigs and jewelries? I am not saying I hate how God created me. But I wear makeup to express myself. Same as wigs and Jewelries.

I am personally of the belief that make-up and jewelry fall into the category of "all things in moderation".

I occasionally wear makeup, but when I do I go for a more natural look with a light makeup - I don't overdo it as I see many women often do. Makeup doesn't exist to hide you, but to accentuate a couple positives, keeping your natural beauty in tact. I wear makeup with this in mind, when I wear it.

Jewelry is again something to be worn in moderation. The old saying for women used to be, "after getting ready to leave, take one thing off before walking out the door". The "thing" refers to jewelry or other accessories.

We always have an innate tendency to overdo things, and it's necessary to always check ourselves in this area. Accessories (jewelry, scarves etc), like makeup should accentuate without being showy or overdone. Notice that the wealthier the woman, the less showy their jewelry and accessories are and that fewer are worn overall. What they wear is nice, but it's never very much.

I have no opinion on wigs, I've never known anyone who wears them unless they have cancer and lost their hair, so I don't know what proper etiquette would be considering them. I guess like everything else you would have to ask yourself if a wig is the "one thing" that should be removed before you leave.

Depends on the context.

If its for you to gain more confidence for a public work presentation or something like that, then its not a sin.

If its for deceiving somebody, for example on dates, then it can be perceived as a lie/deception.

Its really hard to say generally. One thing is to cover up a pimple, another thing is to create some nonexistent facial features with heavy makeup.

Regarding jewelry, its probably purely of flesh desires. I see no usefulness in it, its just for showing off. With the exception of wedding rings or something given to you by somebody, which serves as a commemoration/reminder of something important in your life. But its still quite a materialistic style of thinking.

Are you a woman? If you want to look nice it’s not a sin. We do everything in modesty. If you are a man pretending to be a woman and put on a woman’s wig then yes it is sin.

I believe that as long as you're not trying to seduce men with your appearance, it should be fine. But that's just my personal opinion.

It also depends on where you go. I never wear makeup at church to avoid the long stares but I quickly learned that men will stare at you with or without any type of beauty enhancement.

To reply to your question, I wear makeup mostly for work and special occasions. No wigs for me because I love my natural wavy hair. And I don't leave the house without jewellery, a ring or earrings.
