• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is this BPD?

I have been told that I COULD have this disorder. See I am a VERY sensitive person. My moods can sway sometimes. Let me further explain. I could be in a GREAT mood window's open and I am enjoying God's air. Then I will hear some bad news or get bullied or get told that I am this or that, and my mood changes from happy to depressed really quickly or I get definsive very quickly. This has caused me to lose some friends. Like take today for example. I was in peaceful mood then my best friend told me about how her father said some things about me that was VERY upsetting, I got really depressed and wished that I was gone, you know with Jesus.
So is this BPD? I took one of those quizzes on line and it said that I have about 50% of it. What do you all think in your opinion. I just want to know so that I can figure out what is going on with me and try to get better by doing research on this topic for helping me. Thank you for your advice on this matter. God bless.

I can so relate to what you say as I sometimes wonder if I have the conditions and I do have some of the symptoms such as mood swings, overeating, overspending, feelings of paranoia and fits of anger though I am not suicidal and don't self harm. I too have done these online quizes and told I could have it. However from what I can gather the only way to know for certain is to consult a psychiatrist. I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you but I can certainly understand what you are going through as I am going through the same.:hug::hug::hug:

Nobody here can tell you if you have BPD. It is a psychiatric diagnosis to be made by a mental health professional in a therapy session. If you have trouble regulating your emotions, and difficulty with relationships, then you should speak to a psychotherapist and work on those things, and allow the therapist to diagnose you.

While I relate to what both of you have said, as I have been Borderline in the past, your descriptions and behaviors could also fit other diagnoses.

God bless.

I think many people have got one or more symptoms of BPD. It is not unusual when you get upset by an annoying piece of information and that doesn't look like a mental issue to me. We all have a right to believe and do whatever we want to. If you think that you don't have other symptoms of BPD (that too the harmful ones) then maybe you are a little more sensitive.
