Is this common of bipolars? I have obsessive thoughts as well, yet I see things that are so uncomfortable. I have thoughts about race and racism that are quite disturbing. I even turn off movies and shows that deal with race. I ask people about race and racism in their country. I feel horrible doing that yet I see horrible racist images. At one time, I had an image in my mind of a young black man being lynched. It did sadly happen in our country yet at the same time, Jews in Russia were being lynched as well. How come I didn't have disturbing images in my mind about the Jews as well as I did the black man? Lynching is evil especially in those instances I mentioned. There is a picture of a Jew being lynched in teh former Soviet Union and there are many pics of blacks being lynched in the "Land of the Free, the Home of the Brave". It bothers me that all of this happened in a free country. I hate having these images in my head. Are the disturbing images symptoms of bipolar, OCD, or both?
