Is there scripture that says we must keep the commandments in order to go to heaven?

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

Matthew 19:17 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.''

Do you think anyone who breaks God's law intentionally will be allowed into heaven's gates?

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Matthew 19
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

The context of the text tell a different story that what commentary imply.

Matthew 19:17 In contexts prove that this man kept the ten commandments plus the love his neighbor commandment from his childhood but failed to "come and follow Jesus."
Mat 19:20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

Jesus said you're lacking 1 thing.

Commentary that I've heard on this issue have listed several commandments he broke. (Shame on you...when you go beyond God's word and judge people.)

Jesus was teaching us that He had great wealth that distracted him.

Jesus explains that this man was rich and was busy with worldly proirities.
This man's obedience to the law is itemized to show how he obeyed the letter of the law.... The fact that he is rich is not a sin. The fact that he had more vested interest in the world made it hard for him to follow the Saviour. What Jesus was teaching even the apostle were supprised at His words; Mat 19:23Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Mat 19:25 When his disciples heard [it], they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

The major point I am making is how an isolated text can be used out of context to imply, "keep the ten commandments in order to go to heaven."

Why does it seem that I speak against the law?

I speak against the claim that we're under the law, because if we're under the law we will be judged by the law.
I never said the law does not exist.
I believe that God's law is not only the ten commandments. I believe more that God's law is "be ye Holy for I am Holy". I believe the two commandments is given because it does not have death attached but forgiveness of sin.
When God tell a person or people to do something, that is call righteousness.

The Jews who have strive to keep God's law have stumbled at accepting what God offers through Jesus Christ.
As in Saul/Paul's case, the more you know about the law you develop a zeal to condemn and persecute people.

The true lessons are being glazed over by commentary. More often than not the context of the scripture used, reveals another lesson than keep the 10commandment to be saved.

Why does it seem that I speak against the law?

I speak against the claim that we're under the law, because if we're under the law we will be judged by the law.

What are we going to be judged by then?

There has to be a standard and that standard is the Law and that standard can never change... if it could, then Christ didn't need to come and die for us, the law could have been changed.

Everyone is judged relative to the Law... Lucifer was judged by the Law of God as well as all those created. Those that have their sins confessed and forgiven have nothing to be held against them, nothing for the Law to condemn. Christs blood can only cover what we subject to His forgiveness... we are only made aware of what to subject to Him through the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
