The young do very well from this. Original sin is real but Jesus died to undo this curse and reconcile us to G-d should we accept him. Jesus died to undo the curse not just for those who are able to put their faith in him but also for those who died too young to believe in him and know the truth.

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Mark 10:14
The above is what Jesus said when his disciples tried to prevent parents bring their babies and children to him for a blessing.
I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:15-16
In this part of Mark it is showing proof that these were babies as they were taken in the arms.
I believe that there is no way Jesus would shut the door on babies whom he had held in his arms.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you" Jeremiah 1:5
I believe that G-d sends our human Spirit into us the moment we are knitted in the womb.
Those who have not known of Jesus and what he did for us will gain that chance at resurrection free from Satans influence and will be able to make a choice of their own free will.
Its my view based on the Bible that at resurrection babies will be among the first through the gates into G-ds Kingdom.
We will all be judged and many of us who have grown in this world to adults will not make it. Those who repent from sins, keep G-ds commands and accept Jesus as our saviour will.
Salvation through Jesus is a free gift by his grace but I believe it to be conditional. I don't believe that there is any certainty that we will all make it.

The Bible teaches principles regarding the age of accountablilty. The Bible tells us that Jesus died for the sins of the entire world. This means that children are covered by the blood of Christ until the reach the age of accountablility.
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for to such belongeth the kingdom of heaven.
I'm not sure what that age is but I believe it has something to do with the the awareness of the conscience because the conscience is what convicts of sin. The affect of Adam and Eve's sin was the fact that they saw their nakedness and was ashamed. A child can jump out of a bath tub and run through a house full of people without shame but when that child gets a certain age you can't even knock on the bathroom door without the child yelling to stay out. I believe that is when the child starts to become accountable to their conscience convictions and will be responsible to seek the Savior.
I believe we will be reunited with family and friends and we will know them because Jesus' follower knew Him when He appeared to them after His resurrection and we will be like Him.
