Is there any difference at all between these 2 NASB concordances?

I just purchased these 2 not that long ago before realizing there bassically the same. But I'm curious though is there any real difference at all? Like any that would lead to me choosing one over the other? Thanks.

This thread has been moved from The Kitchen Sink to Bibliology and Hermeneutics, which is more appropriate for the subject. The Kitchen Sink is for discussing out-of-date current events with unbelievers, not getting authoritative Christian opinions on concordances.

Sorry I don't know if there is much difference. I would probably just use the newer version.

So you don't have to flip through pages looking a word, you might consider an online version. Here is a sample.

Matthew 1:1-2 (NASB)
The [1]record <G976> of the genealogy <G1078> of [2]Jesus <G2424> [3]the Messiah <G5547>, [a]the son <G5207> of David <G1160b>, the son <G5207> of Abraham <G11>:

You just scroll over the Strong's number and you get a definition Strong's definition. If you click on the number, you get the full listing that includes the Greek pronunciation. Here is the full display after clicking under the word "record." I think this is the same as Strong's numbers in the KJV, you can check it against your NASB version.

"Greek NASB Number: 976
Greek Word: βίβλος
Transliterated Word: biblos
Root: of unc. or.;

Definition: (the inner) bark (of a papyrus plant), hence a scroll, spec. a book:--

List of English Words and Number of Times Used
book (8),
books (1),
record (1).

New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible."

To anyone looking to take it a step further. There are additional word dictionaries. I like the one from

Zodhiates, Spiros
The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament.

"βίβλος [See Stg: <G976>]

bíblos; gen. bíblou, fem. noun. Paper made from Egyptian papyrus. In the NT, a roll, volume, scroll, i.e., a book (Mark 12:26, "in the book of Moses" meaning the Law; Luke 3:4; 20:42; Acts 1:20; 7:42; 19:19; Sept.: Josh. 1:8; 1 Sam. 10:25; Ezra 6:18). Spoken of a genealogical table or catalog (Matt. 1:1; Sept.: Gen. 5:1). The phrase, "the book of life [bíblos tés zōés <G2222>, life]" is equal in the Sept. to the book of the living ones (Ps. 69:28 [cf. Ex. 32:32, 33]), where God is shown as having the names of the righteous who are to inherit eternal life inscribed in a book. See also Phil. 4:3; Rev. 3:5; 20:15. This is the same phrase as tó biblíon <G975>, a diminutive of bíblos (Rev. 17:8; 20:12; 21:27; Sept.: Dan. 12:1). Different from this is the book in which God has from eternity inscribed the destinies of men (Ps. 139:16 [cf. Job 14:5]). The pl. and the diminutive biblía are twice mentioned in Rev. 20:12 referring to the books of judgment in which the actions of men are recorded (see Dan. 7:10).

Deriv.: bibliarídion <G974>, a little scroll; biblíon <G975>, a roll, scroll." The Complete Word Study Dictionary – New Testament."

Unfortunately, the program I use was merged with LOGOS. I think Logos has a free version, I am not sure if it includes the Strong's definitions though. Their add ons can be pretty expensive.

Other options online only are something like Biblos Meaning - Greek Lexicon | New Testament (NAS)

Here, you can adjust the settings to allow strong's numbers. They highlight the word and by clicking you can reach the definition immediately.

Sorry not the answer you were looking for but perhaps a good way to help in your bible study goals.
