I think the best way to discribe me is that I am a seeker (and bed speller to boot, and we'll not mention my grammer).
I have always been on the knifes edge of belief and disbelief, but something happen the other day and I had to finally know.
So i took out my pocket knife and placed it on my work bench and called out. God if your there turn the knife over as a sign that you truly do exist , I will tell no one, no other soul will know that you did this for me, where is the harm.
Needless to say the knife never moved. So i am left with the conclution that either God doesn't exist or He doesn't care or He cannot act.
Yes I know the "you should not tempt God". But what Father when they hear thier child cry out in the dark of nite for them, doesn't go and call back and hug and hold the child to let them know that thier there and all will be alright.
If there is a flaw in what I have done or the way I am thinking, please let me know.

this is an email that I just got today. it is very timely. read it, ok?!?!!!!

This will give you the chills........GOOD chills.

A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study. The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice. The young man couldn't help but wonder, "Does God still speak to people?" After service he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, "God...If you still speak to people speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey." As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, "God is that you?" He didn't get a reply and started on toward home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli. "Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk." It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, "Turn Down that street." This is crazy he thought and drove on past the intersection. A gain, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street. At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, "Okay, God, I will". He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in semi commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either. The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed. Again, he sensed something, "Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street." The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat. "Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid." Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally, he opened the door, "Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here." He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, "Who is it? What do you want?" Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. "What is it?" The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, "Here, I brought this to you." The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, "We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk." His wife in the kitchen yelled out, "I ask him to send an Angel with some. Are you an Angel?" The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face. He knew that God still answers prayers.

Hi Teakon, welcome, I'm sure all of us have put God to some sort of test, to find out God is the tester, we are the testee. Let's look at it from God's perspective: An Angel goes before God with a slip of paper and hands it to him. On it says, I will believe in you if you pass my test, love Teakon. God contemplates the request, looks down at the knife then looks at Teakon, the knife does not hear ,see, talk or think, Teakon is more blessed than the knife, so God hands the Angel a slip of paper with instructions for Teakon, look in the mirror and see and know your God. The knife is man-made, you are God-made. God bless. Get to know your Creator and be thankful for every gift and unite with your Savior every hardship in fulfilling the Father's will. God says we are created in his image and likeness, Christ will open your eyes to the image of God within you if you put his words to practice so as not to be blinded to his presence, his words are life-giving and leads one to know their Creator. God wants to do more than pass a test for you, he wants to live inside of you but that is up to your free-will in accepting his commands and teachings so as to be a welcome guest in your heart and soul for God is indeed Holy so we must try always to be a temple that holiness can dwell. If the temple gets dirty, we do our best to clean it out and to keep it clean for we have a most precious guest, God.

Hello Teakon,

God cannot be tested. He wants you to believe in Christ by faith alone. Once you have accepted Christ as your saviour, he will reveal himself to you gradually, through a personal relationship with you. Believe in Christ by faith is the condition he cannot break, or else, he can simply speaks in sky.

If he really turn the knife as requested by you, it means you no longer need to believe in Christ by faith, because you are made believed by sign.

My advice to you is to humble your heart, believe in Christ today, and start a relationship with God.

Please feel free to post your questions here, and all your friends here at CF will gladly help. God bless.

Okay, a classic question: Can you see the wind? Can you see the effects of the wind? Can you feel the effects of the wind? Do you believe in wind?

You can't see God, but you can see His effect in the universe. You can see His effect in people. You can feel His effect through the people who know Him. Do you believe in God?

If you come to Him in faith (not asking for a test), He will come to you. He wants to be your Friend, your Father, and wants to be with you always.

no...thats not fair is it?

becuase if you have to choose to believe in God, before you know for sure... your giving yourself away with no real assurance. and you dont have a choice to go back...becuase then you believe...so...you could be stuck in a lie...and youll never know will you? cus you chose to believe.

if you choose to beleive...so that later you can see the evidence...you wont need any of it, becuase you already believe...becuase you chose to. and then...it wont matter what doesnt make sense...youll follow anyway...becuase you believe...becuase you gave yourself to it.

its a trap...

if theres no evidence except for those who are willing to believe regardless... if theres no evidence for critical thinking... if critical thinking isnt allowed...
man its just not real. its not evidence at all.
becuase christians dont need evidence...becuase they choose to believe anyway...becuase thats all theyve ever done. it was never about evidence...and when they lack evidence now, it doesnt matter, becuase evidence isnt the issue...they choose to believe.
Huh?

read the Bible... read books to see if Jesus is real. One of the Best books to read is The Case For Christ. Its written by a man who was a journalist for the Chicago Times... he was a skeptic and when his wife became a Christian, he went and intervied 13 of the country/world's best scolars, archeologists, etc... and in the end he realised how much facts there is sapporting Christianity... God Bless u ALWAYZ...=D

Most people blindly accept any kind of explanation proving there isn’t an almighty God or that Jesus was just a regular man, no matter how far fetched the theory might be because they cant get themselves to believe the truth. Some things people tend to forget are the prophesies… in the old testament there are SPECIFIC prophesies that only the Messiah could fulfill, and for 8 of those to come true in one human being its 1 in a hundred, million, billion. There aren’t even that many people in the world. Jesus not only fulfilled all 60 major prophesies but also 270 ratifications that conform the major prophesies. People will make excuses to explain that away by saying that the Old testiment was written at the same time as the new one so they can corrolate. But there is no truth to this at all because the Old testiment was written almost a 1000 years or more over a course of 1500-2000 years. Also the latest (closest one to Jesus's birth) copy of the Old testiment was dated 200 years before Jesus' birth. It is exactly like the one we have now, with mistakes so minar that they dont even count. This is due to it being VERY VERY carefully handwritten, but hand written however, but its amazing how carefully they were handwritten. The Bible is the ONLY authentic book in the world which was so carefully handwritten and have more that 20,000 documents that were handwritten. Its the largest oldern document in existance like that, the longest and carefully written. Also the disciples who were huddled together scared in a room scared for their lives when Jesus was killed changed totally after a few days, they were going around preaching in Jerusalem where they could be killed or stopped somehow if people had the evidence to stop them like producing Jesus’ dead body when they were takin about the resurrection. But they chose to die b4 denying Jesus; nothing like this could have happen if Jesus didn’t appear to them.11 of the 12 disciples were brutally killed. Noone would die for a lie, especially if they know it’s a lie. It’s really upsetting that people write such horrible things about Jesus just to turn people away from him. They chose to not believe the truth which is plainly before their eyes and would believe elaborate web of lies.

years back a friend of mine was living a miserable life and while she was at her work (an outdoor greek kiosk) she had decided to commit suidice.

she was waiting for the working time to pass and then she would take her life.

in her desperation she called out "my God, if you exist help me to find you".

after some while an Orthodox hieromonk came to the kiosk in order to use the telephone (monks do not usually walk around the cities calling people at 9 in the evening...).

they started talking and today this monk is her spiritual father.

this friend of mine became one of my closest friends, and i have met the specific hieromonk myself, who i think is very Holy.

my friend did not ask for a knife to move, or for snow to fall or for whatever. she asked that if God exists He help her find Him.

there's a difference...

Hi Teakon,
If God's worth knowing or even worth contacting he's gotta know better than us, otherwise he's not even worthe the title "God".

So it makes little sense to ask him to do what we want, better to ask him to do what only he can do. He says he wants to indwell us by us receiving His Spirit (John 14v17, 20; Acts 2v4, 33, 39)

He says to "ask, seek, knock" for that (Luke 11v5-13).

If it's God you are seeking, seek that and you shall find.

Aside from reading the bible, or from reading into scientific discoveries, invest some time to indulge into your own mind and your own logic. You will find that the things that your logic discovers is truly amazing. Now invest that logic into this: the new youth pastor at my mom's (angelpoet's) church had told me this: her wife recently was being raped for 7 years by this one fella. The pastor has had some sever, sincere and serious thoughts of killing this guy, just like the way I was upon hearing of this. Fellas, picture your beloved woman being raped by someone. That's enough to drive you over the edge isn't it? Now picture this taking place for 7 years!? (I often wonder if this 7 years has to do with the same number "seven" of completion that the Old Testmnt. has, hehe.

Okay, so this guy has been raping your wife along with raping your relationship with your wife for 7 years, and now they are good good friends and that rapist now babysits his kids.

Now how can you explain that?

Whoa, hold on here. Remind me to explain things better to you, nimbo. :) This is what really happened.

His wife was being molested by this guy when she was a kid. (Where did you get the 7 year thing? LOL) She grew up, married our pastor, the guy changed and got better (not sure if he became a Christian or not), and now they are all good friends. This guy stays at their house at times, but he is NEVER left alone with the kids. He lost that privilege before it even existed. But he did find forgiveness with our pastor and his wife, and that has changed his life.

Only the God can help us to forgive like that.

Anyone hear of Corrie Ten Boom of _The Hiding Place_? Same kind of thing happened to her. She forgave the Natzi's for what they'd done to her at Auschwitz, and she attributes the ability to do that to God. Supernatural forgiveness.

1. If there is a creation, there is a creator. I write programs, once I link them into .exe's they can run anywhere. Thousands of years from now my program could be unearthed and potentially even run on a computer. Would you assume that no one ever wrote that program, but rather that the earth, as a seed grows, brought forth the program or that it just magically appeared? No, the program exists because a programmer wrote it.

2. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, therefore God exists.

3. If there were no God, where do you suppose all of the energy (e=mc^2) that is in billions of galaxies came from? the energy HAD to come from somewhere, and any self-respecting scientist would agree. energy must come from somewhere, and it came from HE who has infinite power and energy and authority.

Sometimes even as a Christian I am tempted to try God..like run in front of a car just to see if he would save me..that sort of thing.
If you want to talk I would be glad to
