And these two statement should be saying the same thing.. He is the covenant, you will find rest in Him, His Sabbath is your sign of the covenant with Him and you will rest on His Sabbath... since He is not only Lord of the Sabbath, but your Lord.
Yeshua said He is Lord of the Sabbath, He is your Lord... reflect that. Therefore, since I am "in" Him, He is my rest.
Not some day, but He is my rest.
He is my righteousness.
Because I am in Him, His presence goes with me and gives me rest!
Now, if you chose to be under the Law of Moses, then you need to keep the sabbath!

Christ said that as long as heaven and earth exist, the law would not pass until it was fulfilled/accomplished.FWIW, you can put me down on the side of the 4th of 10 Instructions inscribed on stone tablets and stored in the Ark of the Covenant has not been been revoked, nor nailed to a cross, but is sadly like so much of His Torah prescriptions ignored by so many religious people.
Since Yah's Messiyah told us that not one jot nor tittle has been done away with, Yah's Torah ought to remain hugely significant to those who claim to revere Him. It appears that most of the arguments made to justify dismissing Yah's Torah in contradiction to Messiyah instruction are based on the letters of Shaul / Paul of Tarsus.
While I'm sure that I'm in a very small minority, until I can be certain that Paul was not a false prophet he now appear to me to be, when Paul contradicts or abrogates Messiyah's validation of Yah's Torah, and Yah's offer of Covenant relationship He defines within it, I for one choose to side with His Messiyah.
Respectfully,
-Yada Yah
The fall feasts were not fulfilled with His first coming, but they will with His second coming.... a shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ.Christ said that as long as heaven and earth exist, the law would not pass until it was fulfilled/accomlished.
The shadows which were the ceremonial laws have been fulfilled in Christ's person, and
the moral laws have been accomplished in his perfect obedience to them.
The revelation of the Son (Heb 1:1-2) states that the priesthood of Aaron, on which the law was based (Heb 7:11),
has been changed to the priesthood of Melchizedek (Heb 7:11), in fulfillment of Ps 110:4,
with Christ as its new and eternal high priest (Heb 7:17-20).
And because the priesthood has been changed, the law based on it must also change (Heb 7:12)
to the law of Christ, which is the law of God (1Co 9:21; Gal 6:2), and which is love (Jas 2:8; Ro 13:8-10)
that upholds the law of Moses (Ro 3:31), minus its curse (Dt 27:26).
Therefore, because the law of Moses has been fulfilled/accomplished and
because the priesthood on which it was based has been changed,
the Mosaic law has been set aside (Heb 7:18) and changed to the law of Christ, which upholds the law of Moses, minus its curse.
That is the revelation of the Son (Heb 1:1-2) in the NT Word of God.
Do you have a Biblical basis for that? The fall feasts were not fulfilled with His first coming, but they will with His second coming.... a shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ.Christ said that as long as heaven and earth exist, the law would not pass until it was fulfilled/accomplished.
(It will pass, no matter what, in eternity where it is not needed.)
The shadows which were the ceremonial laws have been fulfilled in Christ's person, and
the moral laws have been accomplished in his perfect obedience to them.
In addition, the Son's revelation (Heb 1:1-2) states that the priesthood of Aaron, on which the law was based (Heb 7:11),
has been changed to the priesthood of Melchizedek (Heb 7:11), in fulfillment of Ps 110:4,
with Christ as its new and eternal high priest (Heb 7:17-20).
And because the priesthood has been changed, the law based on it must also change (Heb 7:12),

Saul---------> Jesus(Law)->Paul---------------------->
Now let it be fulfilled in youThe righteous requirement of the fourth commandment was fulfilled in Christ.
Now that we are in Christ, it it fulfilled in us who do not walk after the flesh [the fleshly commandments of the Law of Moses] but after the Spirit!
But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

NO! The Christian is not obligated to the sabbath or the rest of the law.Should Christians keep the seventh day Sabbath holy?
NO!!Are we being deceived by not remembering the Sabbath?
This does not refer to the 10 Cs. It refers to the commandments Jesus issued. No where did Jesus enjoin us to keep the sabbath or the law.The Bible says that the New Covenant will have two aspects. One, God forgives us of our sins, which are the violations of the law, which include the forth commandment. 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Yes that is true. God did not say He would write the covenant made with their fathers on our heart. Two, God will write His law on our hearts.
No so. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. John 15This tells me that we don't keep the commandmends to get saved, but rather, once we are saved we will keep them because we love God and neighbor.
Notice what your verse says? It says sin it does not say violate the law. 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Rom 5 Sin is not always the violation of the law. ...for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Faith is not part of the law.Romans 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
Shall we break the law of God because we are now saved?
Where is this?God tells us that the keeping of the law is motivated by love for God and love for neighbor.
Yes and Jesus did not quote one of the 10 Cs and therefore the 10 Cs has no more value than the rest of the law.Matthew 22:36-40 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?'' Jesus said to him, " `You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the first and great commandment. "And the second is like it: `You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.''
I want to know in light of the above from Jeremiah. How we love God and neighbor is defined in the Ten Commandments.
The first four teach us what pleases God and the last six teaches us what will please others.
How does God write these two aspects of the law on our hearts.
IOW there is no consequences of violating the law or the 10 Cs. Is this not the same as cheap grace?Under the Old Covenant they were commanded to keep the commandments or die.
Under the New Covenant we are free from that fearful aspect of death for not keeping the law and are now under grace, in other words, God frees us from the law and its penalty so that we now are free to obey or not obey without fear. This will open us up to obey God from the heart.
What is the will of God according to the NC?Ephesians 6:6 Not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
Reads like you are using 2 different senarios in the illustration. Looks like you move from a hired servant to a wife to me. Some one doing things out of love is not a hired servant.Look at it this way. Lets say a guy hires a maid, she comes to his house twice a week. The guy puts up a list of chores for her to do, which entail, laundry, dishes, cooking and cleaning. If she does not do these things she will risk the chance of being fired. As she begins to work for him, several months go by when they begin to fall in love and get married. The first thing she does when she comes home from her wedding is she removes the list of chores. Does this mean she will no longer do these things? No, it means she does not need the list to tell her what to do because she loves her husband.
God takes away the law so that we can keep the law because we love Him. If I saw that maid doing all the house work for free I would have to ask why she was doing it. Her response would be, because she Ioves him.
I wonder if this is really the hard truth. Yes I question this because of my personal knowledge of the SDA religion. I further more do not believe you keep the sabbath as outlined even in the 10Cs.If someone asked me why I was keeping the Sabbath, since we are no longer under the law but under grace, I wound have to say, because I love Him.
Again this is not so. See above discussion. The Ten Commandments have not been done away with, we just have a different relationship to them now. They go from being written on stone to being written on our heart through freedom and love.
Listen to the whole context of Eph 6:1-2. Paul here is not talking to children not Christians. If Paul was telling Christians to keep the law he would not be able to say thing like found in Romans 7:6; 10:4 or Gal 5:4, 18.Listen to how the Ten Commandments are referred to by Paul.
Ephesians 6:2 "Honor your father and mother,'' which is the first commandment with promise:
Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
Again context is everything. First the Scripture plain states no one has ever kept the law - Ps 14:3; 53:3; Rom 3:23.Listen to how Jesus refers back to them.
Luke 18:18-21 Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?'' So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. "You know the commandments: `Do not commit adultery,' `Do not murder,' `Do not steal,' `Do not bear false witness,' `Honor your father and your mother.' '' And he said, "All these I have kept from my youth.''
Context once again is important here. Who is Jesus talking to? What are their habits and customs? Why do they even have such customs? Reading Acts we see they did not give up the law very willingly.Jesus was even concerned about the Sabbath forty years after His resurrection.
Matthew 24:16-20 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. "Let him who is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house. "And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those with nursing babies in those days! "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
Back to context yet again. Jesus did not say the sabbath was given to all man kind.Jesus even said He was Lord of the Sabbath and how the Sabbath was made for man.
Of course not. You would not ever present something contradictory to what you believe. These are not words that do away with the law or the Sabbath, but rather, confirm the Sabbath and the law.
You have them above. What are your thoughts?
It is and now there are no longer any requirements to continue fullfilling the contract. It has been done. Now let it be fulfilled in you
It already has!
He has fulfilled the fourth commandment!
It is finished!
Now I am at rest in Him!
JLB
fulfilled means confirmed not finished. It already has!

It is finished!
Now I am at rest in Him!
