We have to go through the great tribulation
first.

Are we in the tribulation or about to be?
Some say the tribulation began around 1913/1914.

one thing is certain; the end is nearer today than it was yesterday, and still nearer tomorrow.
as we march towards it we are like runners in a race. we set our eyes on that goal and work for it.

Satan on the other hand has his own goal, which is to distract us, cause us harm, and defeat us if that were possible.
if he can't defeat us he will try to disract us, or else defame us.
The closer the end comes the harder he will fight against us.

today we see Christians fleeing from persecution, being killed by our enemy, and being defamed by those who should be supporting us.

in addition we see the earth reacting as well. More hurricanes, floods, tsunami's, volcanoes erupting, and even new categories of weather being created to measure the strength and magnitude of these occurences.

Just like time effects the play in a football game, (the 4th quarter is played differently than the first quarter)
so too time has an effect on what happens in our world.
Wise Christians see these things and take both note of them and hope from them, knowing that everything that happens brings the comming of Jesus that much closer.

I have often pondered on the proclivity of so many of my fellow Christians to be so focused on end times speculations. All too often this focus has led people into compromising their mental health and/or their financial security. In my own lifetime I have been aware of several dozen serious end times predictions and they all share two characteristics --- 100% wrong, 100% of the time.

I believe it to be intellectually, emotionally and spiritually unhealthy to live your life in constant expectation of the "end times". It is far better to live your life in such a way as to make this a better world, not just today but into the far distant future.

A healthy skepticism is an excellent virtue to cultivate. It inoculates one against charlatans of every sort. Yes, there are religious charlatans and some of them are Christians too.

There will be an end sometime in one way or another. Astronomers estimate that the "nuclear fires" of the sun will burn out in about 6 billion years. At that point the sun will expand until it engulfs the earth and the other inner planets.
