Making an assumption on skin color is simple deduction.
Highly illogical deduction that brings the concept of deduction into disrepute. Well, granted assuming someone with fair skin would be at risk of sunburn, or someone who appeared to have an African background might be at risk of sickle cell anemia, those might be logical deductions. Deducing behaviour, or life history not so much. I take it you missed Logic 101 at college.

It is not discrimination or racism to make assumptions. If your feelings got hurt by that? Well then you better put on some big boy pants on and try as hard as you can to be brave.
Well I hope you have the big boy pants to accept that making assumptions is just pretty dumb. If your feelings got hurt by that I recommend not making any more dumb statements, that will cut the risk.

(Don't forget the two cheeks.)

You accused me off hypocritical prejudice. Sounds like flaming to me
Respectfully prejudice and hypocrisy are not the same as hatred. This was your statement: "Libs cry wolf", meaning, liberals should be ignored when pointing to "go back to your own country", as racism. Prejudice means to have an unfounded and therefore unfair pre-conceived opinion about others or a group of others. I pointed out that your statement qualifies.

Hypocrisy is when we hold others to moral standards which we ourselves do not conform to. Hence it is hypocritical to treat others as you would not want to be treated. I've already pointed out that saying "libs cry wolf" is a disparaging assertion about liberals.

Assumptions are still not racist. At least you see that now.

its flaming.
I have pointed out clearly to you that you're making unwarranted disparaging statements about others in this forum and you call it flaming. You have not contested my reasoning nor conclusions, despite my sincerely asking for your forthright correction.

The above statement therefore can only convey to me the sentiment that you wish to kill the messenger, rather than thank me for reminding you of God's Word to Love others as you would want to be loved. This is a Christian forum, and if God's Word is not allowed to be spoken nor practiced, then it is no longer a Christian forum.

What point are you trying to make here? People of Color is a common term used in modern day discourse, in the US, to refer to non-Caucasians, and it is considered a respectful and non-offensive term.

If you're offended by it anyway, then what term would you prefer I use?

Assumptions can be racist. Like every prejudice, it assumes something about someone else without any justification.

I was explaining why another poster argued against calling dark-skinned people "of color."

Assumptions can be racist. Like every prejudice, it assumes something about someone else without any justification.

I learned about prejudice in high school. It is making a bad assumption about a whole group like one who is judged to be a bad person (women, disabled, poor, black, you name it). Racial prejudices are obviously the most common and noticeable, but it could be anything.

No it's not. It's just a convenient shorthand to refer to ethnic minorities in America.
Then why not just say “ethnic minorities”? Racists in this country have a history of separating the group they hate from all the rest.

Discrimination against them exists, whether you acknowledge it or not.
Discrimination against EVERYBODY exists (yes even white people) whether you acknowledge it or not. No matter what race, creed or color you are, there will always be instances where your differences will work to your advantage, and instances where it will work to your disadvantage, (yes black and brown privileges exist also) it depends on where you look. The problem is when people only see their discrimination and neglect to recognize their privileges.

Did he tell those people to 'go back to the countries they came from'?

Saying 'AOC is a liar, incompetent, and has bad policies' is not racist.

Saying 'AOC should go back to the crime-infested country she came from' is.
Trump said “Go back to your crime-infested country, fix it; then come back and tell us how it’s done.
I find it rather dishonest when you take only 25% of what he said, ignore the 75% that doesn’t fit within your agenda and try to make your case that way. You need to do better than this.

That is a lie. Being Irish myself, I know this.
So what color were Irish people considered? Black people? Brown people? What?

What do you consider to be racism? Nothing short of using racial slurs?
Racism is the belief that one race is superior or inferior to others; and the actions resulting from said belief.
