Is prayer journaling the same as praying?

Just curious to see what others have to say. Do you believe that writing a prayer in a prayer journal is the same as speaking out a prayer to God. Does God acknowledge a written prayer just the same as he acknowledges a spoken prayer? I seem to be able to pray longer when I write to God as opposed to speaking the prayer. I personally think that writing a prayer to God is no different than writing a love letter to your wife or girlfriend. Both come from the heart right and I think that's what matters most to God, that the prayer comes from the heart, wether it's written or spoken.

I've never been one for speaking my feelings aloud. I do pray by speaking to God, but my words probably look, sound, and speak to God so much better on paper. I think if it is truley from the heart, than it doesn't matter if you beltch the words...of course, in reverence--and to the edification of your soul!

I think written and spoken prayers have equal sway with God.
One is not better than the other.
I have done both.

I like to write out prayers a lot because it helps me think through what I want to say and concentrate on praying, but I also think there are variety of ways people do prayer journaling. Some people make up lists of what they want to pray for and some people write word for word.
