Is or can abortions constitute selfishness in some cases?

I believe that there is an alternative to abortions. I understand your point of view but I believe instead of terminating her pregnancy, there are and should be options such as adoptions and counseling, even as far as what happened to her.
And what if they don't care to carry the fruit of a rape for 9 months, or for counseling?

Why must you see things from a conservative point of view?

Even if I personally disagreed with abortion (e.g. because of my religious or philosophical views), I cannot force my views on the personal-level, onto others on the government-level.

I'm not a doctor, so I can't say exactly how an abortion would have saved Savita. Reading about the inquest of her case, doctors could not legally terminate when she requested it, because there was no risk to her health at the time, but her condition worsened the next day, making abortion legally permissible. An expert witness claims that by then termination would have made no difference, but if it was done one or two days earlier, she could have survived. Some links:

Some people dont like to get the help they need. Continuing self abuse or allowing others to abuse them. We try our best with interventions and other means.

If we lived in a society that acknowledge life within the womb, some of these issues would be minimal or non-existant. More so if abortion was illegal and women lived in a community that supported their pregnancy rather treat it like a curse.

Then many can heal.

IMO many issues in society is already caused by parents who give birth to wanted and uncared for children.
