  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Today, a Catholic friend of mine suggested that the so-called prophet Mohammad is the false prophet that Saint John refers to in the Revelation. This is an intriguing idea, but John also says that the false prophet will cause the nations to worship an image. And of all the evil Mohammad taught, idolatry wasn't one of his ideas. What do you all think of this?

If anyone is under the impression that the false prophet has already manifested itself on earth, then that would mean that the antichrist has come as well, would it not?

It is my understanding that the false prophet will be made known to the world during the same period as the antichrist. The beast, antichrist, and false prophet can be said to be the counterfeit trinity. They will be manifested to the world during the end days.

Anyone who professes false doctrine is a false prophet.

Well yes, Mohammad is a false prophet. I'm just wondering if he's the false prophet who will decieve the nations and lead them to the antichrist. It's a compelling theory. But Mohammad hasn't actually led people to worship false gods.

I personally believe that Mohammad is a false prophet because of the following Scripture:

Mark 13:23- But take ye heed: Behold, I have foretold you ALL things.

Those are Christ's words. He has foretold us ALL things, everything that we need to know to follow Him in the Scripture. Anyone who teaches contrary to His word is a false prophet. That includes preachers, teachers, false gods...

In fact, God's wrod says that judgement begins at the pulpit (altar).

The word prophesy means to profess or simply "teach".

The false prophet(s) that will lead the world to worship an image are already here. They are prachers and teachers that don't teach the word of God. They may preach for an hour and only give you one verse of God's word and 55 minutes of gibberish that they wrote themselves.

The false prophets use Religion to decieve you by bringing in false doctrine into the church causing you to not know the truth of God's word and that the anti-christ comes first.
The false prophets use Education to decieve you (ie Evolution)
The False prophets use the economy and politics to keep the word of God out and to build the one world system (the beast).

There are Muslim prophecies of a messianic type leader. A man at our church who has been a missionary in several Muslim countries wrote a book about this and how he sees it might fit into the end times. I haven't read the book yet. But if you're interested, his site is at http://www.from911to666.com
