Hello,
It is understandable why you would be confused if touching yourself is a sin. It has many different well argued points. But there is basically one reason to touch, and that's to fulfill lustly pleasures. It is a sin because you are lust. Here is what the bible say about that:

"I made a covenant with my eyes not to look with lust upon a girl. I know full well that the Almighty God sends calamity on those who do" (Job 31:1-3, The Living Bible).
"You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28).

That is just two passages. Not to mention the countless others in bible dealing with lust. So therefore, when you are masterbating, and lustly thoughts go in your mind of sex. Then, God counts it as a sin itself just to think about sex and other things in a lustly manner. I hope I was alittle help to you.
I hope that what i have said has been of service.
Your world to the prophetic

Why else would you touch? Let's not be foolish. There is no medical regiment for touching yourself. It is dealing with lust.

To lower the risk of prostate cancer

"A research team led by Professor Graham Giles, Director of the Cancer Council's Cancer Epidemiology Centre, has found that there is evidence that the more frequently men [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] between the ages of 20 and 50, the less likely they are to develop prostate cancer.

Yeah ok whatever. But you said that ejaculaton does that. Not touching yourself, they are two different. Granted I am studying to be a nuerosurgeon. touching yourself is erotic stimulation especially of one's own genital organs commonly resulting in [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] and achieved by manual or other bodily contact exclusive of sexual intercourse, by instrumental manipulation, by sexual fantasies, or by various combinations of these agencies, [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] is the actual releasing of sperm or vaginal liquids. touching yourself means that sexual fantasies fill the mind. Get the definition right. (definition provided by webster)

Is scratching a mosquito bite a sin? We all know it is improper treatment to scratch a bug bite.

Aer you seriously going to compare sexual sin to mosquitos?!

This ananlogy is wrong in so many ways...

The Bible does not say "improper treatment" is a sin. It says having a hint of immorality is... and we all know that masturbation is a hint. Scratching a mosquito bite is not immoral.

Scratching a mosquito bite does not cause you to have an [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]...

Hello all,

I'm not sure if masturbation is a sin or not.
What do you think?

Some food for thought...

2352
By masturbation is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. "Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action."137 "The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose." For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of "the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved."138
To form an equitable judgment about the subjects' moral responsibility and to guide pastoral action, one must take into account the affective immaturity, force of acquired habit, conditions of anxiety, or other psychological or social factors that lessen or even extenuate moral culpability.

IN BRIEF
2392 "Love is the fundamental and innate vocation of every human being" (FC 11).
2393 By creating the human being man and woman, God gives personal dignity equally to the one and the other. Each of them, man and woman, should acknowledge and accept his sexual identity.
2394 Christ is the model of chastity. Every baptized person is called to lead a chaste life, each according to his particular state of life.
2395 Chastity means the integration of sexuality within the person. It includes an apprenticeship in self-mastery.
2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices.
2397 The covenant which spouses have freely entered into entails faithful love. It imposes on them the obligation to keep their marriage indissoluble.
2398 Fecundity is a good, a gift and an end of marriage. By giving life, spouses participate in God's fatherhood.
2399 The regulation of births represents one of the aspects of responsible fatherhood and motherhood. Legitimate intentions on the part of the spouses do not justify recourse to morally unacceptable means (for example, direct sterilization or contraception).
2400 Adultery, divorce, polygamy, and free union are grave offenses against the dignity of marriage.

So... this all leads to one thing, masterbating is a sin because one desires a woman/man so... what are we supposed to think of then? a brick? i'm not complaining if it sounds like that then i'm excuse me i tend to talk harshly sometimes, and more when a doubt of mine grows bigger, ok, so desiring a real life woman is a sin, but what about those men or women who touch about let's say a cartoon? is that a sin as well? i guess we are left with no other option since we really can't touch while imagening ourself's having sexual intercorse with a real woman.

Can anyone help out on this one?

instead of masturbating, control the passions which can be done through the grace of God.

Touchy topic! Sorry, just couldn't resist.

Actually, if you use the correct technique there is no [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] and hence no wasted seed.

Ignoring or wasting seed is a sin, cleaning yourself correctly is not.

If you do not clean yourself correctly, you can develop problems ranging from psychosis to peversion.

In my experience, it is simply best to repent of sin and clean yourself properly (the normal outcome is urination).

depends on thoughts that go through your mind while doing I believe.
I did hear that there is a scripture saying it is better to
put your seed in the belly of a harlot than spill it on a rock or vice versa but I cant find it in the Bible.

Heh, this question gets asked over and over again. I have thought about this question so many times in the past, done a bunch of research, asked so many people, and I finally have an answer: there IS no answer to this question. Masturbation falls under the gray areas that Paul talks about in Romans. For all the moral quandaries we have in our lives that are not answered by the Bible, God has provided for us the Holy Spirit. Therefore, masturbation is something that is between a person and God. For some it may be a sin, for others may not.

But for most men, at least, I beleive that masturbation in moderation is not only not a sin, but healthy physically, mentally, and even spiritually. Sperm has to get out of you somehow, and if you don't touch, you will eventually have wet dreams. Not only that, but masturbating regularly can help keep one's sexual desires in check. The man who does not touch regularly is not only much more likely to lust, but to fornicate. Being extremely horny all the time is miserable, especially when the only thing you can do is to try not to think about it. For some men, including me, failing to touch can even be painful. Pressure builds up in certain regions for me, and it feels like I need to urinate badly, but only [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] releives the pressure. Masturbating also decreases the risk of testicular cancer. If we look at the nature of God, and what he has done in the Bible, you would see that not once has he ever made his people do something that is detrimental to one's body or one's psychological state. So why would he suddenly change his mind on the topic of masturbation?

Of course, we have to be careful not to lust when we mastubate. But what does lust mean, in terms of the Biblical sin? I think we can all agree that fornicating with someone in your mind is lust, and that is where I personally draw the line. I think it's fine to imagne the female form when one masturbates, or to even look at the swimsuit section of Sports Illustrated, so long as you're not imagining something like a woman giving you pleasure as you touch. I also think just sitting around, masturbating all day, would probably be a sin.

I don't have question about 'is masturbation a sin' (for me), 'cause I know, it is. Especially because I'm a girl. And because I'm doing it for 17 years and I can't finish it. I don't have a single day without it, although I would like.
So I know, that I need some help. And my question is: what should I do now?
Please help me if you can. Thanks and GBY!
