I don't think so. I think it's a normal human response when we're down, or going through a struggle. You're asking God for help. For strength to get through something. I've done the same. When you get into a situation that you know is not right, and you want to get out, but you just feel like you don't have the will or the strength... that whole "the spirit is willing but the flesh is so weak". Do you doubt God's existance? If you pray for Him to help you, He will. It might not be when or how you were expecting, but He will.

Did that help you at all? Did it make any sense?

Its a normal response when the going gets tough. It's showing that you are hungry to taste His goodness in a way. We've said it all the time. In a way, it shows hope in God and shows that you know the only way through your hard time is through God which is saying a lot compared to some other folks. Don't worry about that too much but what you should be concerned about is why you have backslided.

MY DEAR BROTHER IN CHRIST,

i am not sure that this is a question that anyone but God can answer given that only He knows all the details of the circumstances of your situation and what is in your best interests.
When we turn away from God and get ourselves into difficult circumstances because of choosing to act against His Will and then we later repent and confess the sin(s) and turn from them, sometimes He delivers us from the situation and sometimes He allows us to suffer the consequences--as a learning experience. Which ever way it goes we know that: #1. THE SINS WE HAVE CONFESSED ARE FORGIVEN and that #2. WHETHER WE ARE DELIVERED FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF OUR FORGIVEN SINS OR ALLOWED TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES AS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE, GOD HAS MADE THE CHOICE IN OUR BEST INTERESTS AND FOR OUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
So, i would recommend you repent, confess and forsake your sin(s), and accept with joy and thanksgiving whatever follows, knowing that whatever comes is dealt to you in Love from a God who is even more concerned with your welfare than you are.

MAY YOU BE BLESSED,
ephraim

Well at this specific point I can think of one scripture off hand of a tempting the Lord situation that you can have for a comparision. These usually help me.

Matthew 4:5-7 Then the devil took him to Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, "If you be the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say,

'He orders his angels to protect you. And they will hold you with their hands to keep you from striking your food on a stone.' "

Jesus responded, "The Scriptures also say, "Do not test the Lord your God.' "

(Ps. 91:11-12 and Deut. 6:16) these are the two scripture references.

The reference Jesus used was of the nation of Israel out in the wilderness at Massah. I think it was actually a good reference because Jesus was in the wilderness (and preparing so he could lead us to the promised land).

In Exodus 17:7 it says Moses named the place Massah-"the place of testing"- and Meribah- "the place of arguing"- because the people of Israel argued with Moses and tested the Lord by saying, "Is the Lord going to take care of us or not?"

This is the place where Moses was instructed to strike the rock so that water would come out of it. And then the people could drink. (I personally like this analogy because we know Jesus is that rock from which the water flowed).

So anyways, there's some scriptures for you to read on testing (tempting).

My personal glimpse of this one, is trust. We must come to the place where we trust the Lord our God. Just like the people he redeemed from Egypt, he did not set them free only to have them die out in the wilderness-by not taking care of them.

This was one of the stories the Lord used with me when I was a worry wart. He had me read about how he redeemed the people from Egypt and took care of them out in the wilderness for fourty years. And the Lord told me, I have not redeemed you only to have you die. And for me, it just made sense.

Jesus didnt come and do all that he did for us, only to leave us out in the wilderness helpless and alone-starving and dying of thirst. That would not bring glory to his name. No we must know that he will fulfill himself in us and bring glory to his name.

I hope this has helped.

God Bless

It's only testing Him if you're repenting with the intention to ignore Him later. Our whole lives are a series of ups and downs, so we all have to forgive ourselves over and over, and beg for His patience with us.

Matthew 18:21-35
Then Peter came and said to Him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Eze 20:41
As a soothing aroma I will accept you when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands where you are scattered; and I will prove Myself holy among you in the sight of the nations.

Dear BOJAX

I have a real distaste for the word " backslidden". It infers that we at one time were good. No one is GOOD in GODS EYES. We have not the power to be GOOD. Now if you said deeper in sin I could give you an answer without a doubt. You tempt the LORD if you don't pray!
That's like saying you don't care and do not need the LORDS HELP. Remember HE SAID: " WHATEVER YOU SHALL ASK IN MY NAME, IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU." HE added no requirements to that.

That is the same as the taking of the BODY and BLOOD OF JESUS. You can do that in a fox hole, home or a harlot house. The ONLY REQUIREMENT HE put with it is, when you do it, do it in remembrance of ME!

You could of been in that harlot house in an attempt to bring others to CHRIST!

I know this example is a bit extreme but I wanted to make it clear that the only rules we need to follow is GODS RULES. Not mans religious doctrine rules. You can make your own unleavened bread and use any wine-No rules!! Many Churches would like you to think otherwise but what they are doing is putting a spot on their sheep so they stick together. There will be special punishment for that as says the Bible.

JUST ALWAYS REMEMBER:

XEven though you can't see Him, GOD is there!O
( click on the X and move to the O ) ( then feel who is around you )
