Is it semetically acceptable to use "kosher" as slang?

Seeking Jewish permission before I use this term liberally.

kosher--

slang for me to mean proper and acceptable

Use in a sentence: Wearing a hawian shirt in place of a sports coat is not kosher for a job interview even if you are wearing a tie.

Honestly I don't know, now that I think about it. Any Jews here that would care to input on the meaning of Kosher? I don't know enough about what Kosher truly means to know whether it should be offensive or not.

I don't have a problem with it even if it distorts what
we normally think of "kosher" as meaning.
Techinicaly kosher means being "fit for use" so that usage you gave isn't accurate, but I don't think
it's offensive....
