Since this is a deeper fellowship thread, i would like to ask how you feel about our intimacy with the Father. Is it possible, and how is it accomplished?
Will we have the same relationship with the Father that Jesus had? Is it possible to have the fullness of the power of the Holy Spirit working through us like the early church did, so that healings will begin to happen once again?
What do you think?

Honeybee,

I rejoice in the start of this thread, this is a question I think is on the minds of alot of new Christians and old alike. I know for a fact that God desires a relationship for us that Jesus had with God. We are commanded to be like Christ, and if we are commanded like Christ there is no reason I can't think of that God would not allow us to be close to Him as His son was. It is accomplised in this way, once we accept the Good News of Christ, Christ lives in us. This is how it is accomplished, every sin we reject, every time we go to the Father in prayer, Christ is magnified in us.

I also believe that the power of the Holy Spirit can empower believers to do ALL things that the early church also did. The early church examples are there for a reason, to show us what we are capable of if we allow God to fully work in our lives. The Scriptures say that Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. If we cannot heal and do things the early church did, that would mean something changed. Healings are still happening in this world, I have heard of people raised from the dead even, but God is still working.

I hope this helps, and I thank you Honeybee for you Spirit Probing question.

Love in Christ,
Matt

Wonderful, deep questions.

John 17:22
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

Praise God, that scripture moves me.

Intimacy with the Father? Personally, I feel that that is the pinnacle of the Christian Life Divine. I yearn for it, my Spirit groans for it. It seems there are times and seasons of intimacy development (dreams, events, breaking circumstances, quickenings): a closer intertwining of the Threads of God and ourselves. There are times of real spiritual intercourse, where an unnatural heavenly union arises in prayer, and then pulls away. These are my most highly valued experiences in God, and I long for another of these meetings of Spirit. I believe the Normal Christian Life, the Abundant Life, requires this in constancy.

Will we have the same relationship? No, I don't believe so. On earth we may perform the same works out of a purified and harmonized heart with Him, but I don't feel we can comprehend the One and Only Begotten Son's higher relationship with the Father. We are begotten because of the Only Begotten (John 1:14,18 3:16,18); our relationship is different while the works may be the same. He is still our elder Brother, Firstborn, and holds the life of all His brothers in His Hand. We will never be the root, nor hold the relationship between the root and vinedresser. We will always be leaves, but, praise the Lord, we are all part of the plant.

John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

What do you think Honeybee? I'd also like to hear from brother Iktca and Looksgood, if they can find the time to post. It's wonderful to be numbered among you, brothers and sisters. Praise the Lord for the gathering of the remnant, and may the Lord bless His people with the Fires of Pentecoste.

In Him,
Deg

Perhaps a bit off topic so I will apologize first...sorry.
I have found that some have begun to adopt the "relationship with God" as a scientific approach. English Cubbs! Ok, basically it is not a romantic heartfelt relationship, one of intimacy. Is it possible? Absolutely! It does take some work though. Not to plug a book but I will :D "Waking the D e a d" by John Eldridge is a fanstastic book. Speaks to the heart.
(Buffer: Please dont misunderstand me. I never said check your brain at the door either:))

In Him,
Eric

Honeybee the best way to experinece the FULLNESS of God His overewhleming love peace and glory, overflowing like a river is a simple...spend as much time alone with Jesus. Believe my lady IVE PROVED it, ive been Gods child for 21 yrs, and now i have a most precious intermate relationship with Him. I spend many hours a week just with Him, break times at work, spare moments whenever. The more you spend time with Him the more you be fILLED with His spirit. Also i have to say that the many trials in my life have caused me to pray and cry a lot and so, this has helped me grow so very close to me dear Friend. You can read as many books as you like, but it all comes down to TIME for Him. If i ws you I would make it your hearts desire to really get to know God, He will help you and guide you. DONT give in, keep at it, He finally blest me beyond all my dreams.
Hope this helps..JOHN

Sister HB:

In order to answer your questions, I must know the depth of fellowshipping with the Holy Father. But I do not know the true depth yet. I, too, like you, am seeking a deeper fellowship with the Father everyday.

The deepest place I have reached so far is where my whole being desires to obey Father's will. I am certain you have been there, too. Brother Deg, Brother John, and Brother Matt have already been in a deeper fellowship than I and have posted testimonies. Brother Eric and Sister UD suggested a routine to reach a much deeper place. Brother LG posted several in the One Hour Prayer thread. And many more by other brothers and sisters. There is nothing I can add to these.

But, Sister HB, let us not despair. It is not their efforts that brought them to the deeper fellowship than us. It is the grace of our Lord Jesus, who accepted the desires of their hearts worthy, took them to the place that not many souls have visited before. But then who placed the desires in their hearts first? Didn't Jesus do that, too?

It is Jesus who initiates, and it is Jesus who fulfills. Let us look up to Jesus, and continue to ask him to draw us nearer and nearer everyday.

Sister HB,
Have you seen the heaven open, and cherubims and white robed elders worshipping the Father Almighty? What about the third heaven? When I read these, I yearn to experience the same. I believe the bible records these mysteries for us to desire.

As you continue your journey ever closer to the Father, encourage me who is a co-sojourner in this age. I, too, will pray for you so that we will be where Jesus wants us to be in the near future. Knowing you will, I pray to the Father of Jesus,

Father,
Sister HB and I come to you with the same heart and desire, to be in a deeper fellowship that we are destined to have. Where our souls are refined by the fire from your throne so that all the dross is removed and only the finest silver remains, take us there. Where we can kneel before our Lord and wipe his feet with our tears, take us there. Where 24 elders worship you day and night without ceasing, where the songs only the chosen ones can sing are sung, take us there.

As you reveal the deepest mystery of the heaven to our brothers and sisters, do not leave us behind. We petition in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Rupert

Wow, i am dancing with joy at the replies...the Father is so amazing. I have gone through some serious stuff lately, and the door has been opened because i asked, and knocked and i am beginning to receive. I have been a christian for 20+ years, but this is so incredible, it's almost as if i have been born again, again. Maybe a fresh infilling of His Spirit? I had read the Bible through a few times, but now i'm going through as i read it every day and marking passages or sentences that speak to me, and all my Bibles are so marked up, and highlighted, and have comments of mine in the margin, whatever the Lord was speaking to me at that time, or new insight he has given me into a portion of scripture. Just writing this and thinking there are others out there, yea, the remnant, i am so excited...
I am so thankful that you all replied, thank you so much for sharing your heart with us. I do feel as though the Father is calling us to separate ourselves and hear His voice. Although (Deg?) is probably right, the depth of relationship Jesus had with the Father is a little out of our reach, i know in my heart that there is much more than has been happening; at least in my life.
The Father has been speaking to me lately, too. Something that never happened before, at least not so loud and clear.
I read biographies of early christians besides the bible, and they had something that we lack. Almost an utter dependence on God. Like George Muller, who started sunday schools. What a man of God.
Yes, i know of healings and the dead being raised today, but rather i think the bigger miracle would be to see christians loving one another and forgiving one another, helping one another. I can see from the responses that i may have found some, and it feels as though i've come home. It is great to be numbered among you indeed. Thank you again, you have greatly blessed me with your replies, please let's continue to share what the Father has done and is doing to help us become like Jesus with the help of His Holy Spirit...

I think that the Old Testament is an awesome start to really find out how Yahweh works. Look into the names of God in the Old Testament, and you will see the different aspects of Gods character.

Prayer is also an excellent place to be. The WHOLE POINT of Jesus' crucifixion was to restore our relationship with God. If you have no relationship with God, then what relevance does Christ's resurrection have in your life? Prayer is the fruit of his death, and its ESSENTIAL that we ALL bear that fruit.

God Bless, metal.

Great thread!!

What a blessing to read.
Our walks will intensify as we intensify. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
What God has been saying to me lately is.
Ask Christians that you know who is the most intense Christian you can think of? Ones that fast and seek the Lord with all there heart. Meet with them, pray and fast and watch what happens. I can't share anything so far because that was two days ago.
But I see it in the Spirit. I want with all my heart to live The book of Acts. Be blessed in the name of Jesus for you have truly been a blessing.

Amen. I totally agree. Through recent experiences I have come to learn and become connected to the fact that God really loves us. He wants to cradle us in His arms, and give us the ultimate TLC (tender loving care). His TLC is better than that we can get from any human being. :)
