Sometimes it feels totally useless and foolish to try and outreach and discuss issues with people of different denominations or political views...

It now seems that many consider it trolling to just ask genuine, kind, gentle, honest questions or to be friendly...

That the differences, although not great, are so ingrained that everyone is too low in their foxholes to see the other side...

That it is easier to accuse others of being "not Christian" or not this-and-that than to listen and learn...

That so many are taking the easy, wide path of not listening or learning...

That it is everywhere, all over the world...

Don't worry about the world, Sally. You are not responsible for it, and you do not need to let its weight fall on you.

Are you ok other than this, or is there something up rather closer to home?

I usually find that the world becomes too heavy for me when I am not strong myself. I hope you are ok.

Meanwhile to answer your question, yes it is worth continuing, when we are able to. For every refusal to listen that we see in reply to our posts, there are ten people reading and thinking, this person has a real point, I must think about it.

I am not sure if it will help, but maybe a nice bubble bath, glass of wine, candles, trashy novel, early night ...

If the whole world were made of diamond, we would not appreciate diamonds at all. What we have is a lot of dross, and a few diamonds here and there.

I think we can work these things out on CF. And the world, well, the world has survived this far! Things will keep going, and begin to look better if everyone does their small part, whatever that small part happens to be.
