"Are not five sparrows sold for two pence? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not: ye are of more value than many sparrows." Luk 12:6-7

Though God values us more than the sparrow, even they are not forgotten by God's love.

When I lost my beloved dog last year, I prayed like crazy for her.

I don't know if dogs go to heaven or not, but I know I can't imagine heaven without them, and I hope she's up there with my dad, keeping him company, getting scratched behind the ears, and offering up all the unconditional love she is capable of giving, waiting for me to turn up.

Hi
I was wondering if it's okay to pray for our pets. Some people think it's wrong since they aren't humans. Does God hear prayer for animals? I'd appreciate your help!

Thanks
Sandy M.
I pray for my pets.
How could it be wrong to ask God to make our pets feel better.
I of course believe he hears the prayers for our animals.
I pray for my pets safety.
I also pray for the homeless dogs and cats.

Comforting Bible Passages Revealing God's Love for Animals

"Not even a sparrow, worth only half a penny, can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it." Matthew 10:29, New Living Translation

"O Lord, You preserve both man and beast." Psalm 36:6

"A righteous man regards the life of his animal." Proverbs 12:10

"The Angel of the Lord said to Balaam, 'Why have you struck your donkey these three times?'" Numbers 22:23. This verse proves Angels care for animals.

The Ten Commandments reveal God's care for animals. The Fourth Commandment states that even the cows are to rest on the Sabbath day. "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord, in it you shall do no work. You, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor the stranger that is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11.

We can learn spiritual lessons from animals. "But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; and the birds of the air, and they will tell you; Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, In whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?" Job 12-7-10.

In the God’s future kingdom, “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the goat … the cow and the bear shall feed, their young ones shall lie down together … and a little child shall lead them … They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” Isaiah 11:6-9.

In God’s future kingdom, all pain will be gone. “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away. And He that sat upon the throne said, ‘Behold, I create all things new.’ And He said to me, “Write this down, for these words are true and faithful.’” Revelation 21:4,5.

God loves his creation all of it!

I didn't say I believed animals went to heaven - I said I didn't know, but I hoped they did, and that I couldn't imagine heaven without them.

And I can't. When I think of heaven, I think of warm sunny days and flowery gardens and green hills and lots of nature - whether that's accurate in any way I have no idea, but it's what I imagine it to be - and in that nature I can't believe there wouldn't also be animals. Plus, it's a big hope of mine. I had a lot of love for my dog, and I really hope I get to see her again.

I have prayed for my pets too, and saw amazing answers to the prayers. I believe animals do make it to heaven, and a lot of people take issue with that. I believe if they comfort us here on earth they have earned the right to be there with us when we pass on.

There are no passages in the Bible which I can find that says otherwise.

to paisley rose: no one or nothing earns their right to get to heaven. God allows people to enter heaven through His grace.

to evee: in regards to your post #11, youve taken those verses extremely out of context. you lost the true meanings of those verses...thats horrible. in regards to #15, heaven in not where you get what you want...thats hell.

so, i guess trees go to heaven when they die too, right? i mean, they have to...they brought me so much joy!...........NO!

Is it okay to pray for animals?
Basically your asking.." Is it okay to pray?

Because you pray for whatever is close to you. So if you love animals then
it is okay to pray for them.
If you love money, you can pray for it. You can pray for anything. God will
look at your prayers and decide what is best for you. He doesn't give everything
you want. He listens though.

We are children compared to god. Listen to childrens prayers. Sometimes they are silly. Sometimes they ask for something, but really want something else. To god some of our prayers are silly. Sometimes we are mad.

You can pray over anything and everything.
