Is it okay to just have Jesus as your only friend?

Jesus is my only friend that I feel I can trust & turn to. I have my pets for companionship & their loyalty. I feel that people around me pretend to like me to spare my feelings or they judge and gossip about other people. I have found the people I'm around seem to care about material things than what's really important in life.

Yep, as sad as it may seem, that's life in the world.

You just carry on the best way you can. A life with our Lord Jesus Christ is a life of rejection.

Always remember that HE will protect you and will not forsake you, and that you trust in HIM all the time and have no confidence in man.

Yep, they are all fools, because they don't know the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. It's sad when this happens, because HIS INSPIRED WORD is not being taught.

The pastor of any church is responsible to look after HIS Sheep. It's sad, but many of them look after themselves only, and they don't want to offend the paying customers.

Don't worry about those who gossip, and backbite. Always remember that our Lord Jesus Christ loves us, and that if we know HIS NAME, then they will fear us.

Just keep smiling, be patient, and don't hide from them. I know what I am saying, because that is how I feel at the moment myself.

I've had enough of churches, because of what you see. But, I am an obedient servant of our Lord, and I will sit in that church, because that's where HE wants me.

I am HIS Watchman and HIS Messenger, and I wait patiently upon our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is perfectly alright to have no friend but Jesus But it is not alright for you not to be the friend of anyone else. Even if everyone rejects you and does not want to be your friend, you should still strive to be their friend.

Jesus still remained the friend of Judas even though Judas was to betray him, in the like manner we should be friends even to our enemies. This does not mean that you have to confide in them or depend on them, this is what you with some one who is your friend. This is what you do with Jesus and other true friends. But you should be their to help them and guide them, doing it all with love.

For many of these people you may be the only glimps of Christ they get to see. Let that glimps shine as bright and true as possible. Be their friend, even if they are not your's.

I find in my case, a lot of people have disappointed me or have shown me that they are not really interested in being a friend to me. Or they want their cliques. Church is Sunday and I can hardly wait. I don't think my daughter should not be included in things simply because I am not their mom's "buddy". I'm an older parent too. Before I moved I had lots of friends, here it is so sketchy.

Jesus is the best friend that we have, but we are comanded to tell others about him, to do that we do have to make friends with others.

As for people letting you down, well people do that, you and I included. We do have to forgive them for this as hard as that might be. Try to remember that each of those people that you judge is loved by Jesus every bit as much as you are, you could well be the lords way of reaching out to them.

Are these christian friends? If so, I would find some mature christian friends if I was in your shoes.

I agree. Personally, I don't think it's healty not to have any physical beings here on this earth that you can be friends with. The Bible talks extensively (from what I've read so far, and have been told) about the importance of community. If you don't have a good set of Christian friends, go find some. Honestly, the best friends I've found down here in DC have been the Christians that I've met recently. And it's helped me so much- I have people who actually care about the things I say, are genuinely happy to be around me and include me in things. My boyfriend, on the other hand, has a deep mistrust of people, and swears that God is the only person worth trusting. While at the end of the day, He is the only one who will NEVER let us down, it does not mean that everyone out there is out to screw you over. People make mistakes, sure, but there are people out there who are willing to form friendships with you. But it's a two-way street- you have to be willing to make the connection as well. My friends are technically my boyfriend's friends as well- they all LOVE him and tell me how great he is, and how they miss him when he doesn't attend events with me, but he makes no effort. They're willing, but he is not. And he often feels very isolated and alone because of it.

Does this make sense? I might have a more "liberal" view of things because I'm a new Christian, but I'm not saying that Jesus isn't the ultimate friend- He is. But it's unfair to discount those of us here on earth. You just have to be willing to make the effort. I also noticed that you're 20- teens and early twenties are hard because people are changing and trying to figure out what they want and who they are, and often people are still immature and revert to cliquey high school behavoir. It's just human nature. Eventually, people grow out of it and I can tell you that not everyone your age is this way. I have plenty of friends now and in the past, Christian and otherwise, who are not cliquey and shallow.

Church is meant to be a loving community of people, where we find love, acceptance, and good relationships with others. Unfortunately that does not always happen, but nevertheless we need to see that God made us social beings who are menat to live in a meaningful relationships with each other.

It was merely a suggestion that she look for friends through her church. I'm not saying that it's the only place to look, and I'm also going to go out on a limb here and risk flaming and say that I have plenty of friends that I've met who are not Christian who are great friends. My boyfriend's best friend in the whole wide world is of Egyptian descent- he's not Christian. It's not healthy to sit in your room all day and never go out and experience what the world has to offer. May as well do it with someone.

Apart from my dog Geoffrey, Jesus is my only friend.
We stay in, watch TV, sing hymns, do fashion shows and bake cakes.
All the human contact I need is at Church.
Don't feel lonely. When you are in Heaven you will be with all the people who are like you.

Ohh honey I hear ya. I feel as though my immediate family and Jesus are the only ones who are my true friends who I can really trust. Jesus mainly, yeah. I think it's awesome. He's all I need anyway! I'm just blessed to have a great family that He's given me.
