Is it ok to watch the simpsons?

How are you serving God by watching the simpsons? To me, it is just a senseless waste of time, time that you otherwise ought to be using to serve God. I think it's a sin to watch the simpsons. On top of that, from the episodes I remember back when I did watch the show, often times they would make fun of God.

Im not just picking on the simpsons either, but also shows like seinfeld, that 70's show, etc.,

And if one is unsure about whether it is a sin or not to waste ones own time, but continues to do so, that person is sinning.

Yes. I am serving God by sharing my ideas and beliefs with other Christians, gaining wisdom as I learn things about our faith, praying for Christians here, praying for non-christians here, etc.

I don't see that the Simpsons ever makes fun of God. They make fun of religious people who seem to have lost their sense of humor.

I think some laughter is good. Sometimes I laugh out of joy as I think about how incredibly awesome God is.

Depending on what your laughing about, it can be good or bad. If your a roman citizen laughing at the colliseum as slaves fight eachother to the death, I think this is a sin.

This post was directed for Christians. I would imagine that most pagans wouldn't care if it's a sin by Christian standards or not.

No joke is at God's expense. How could it be? God is beyond us.

My friends and I can tease each other, because we are friends, and we know each others' hearts. This is even more true with God, who knows our hearts even better. We cannot harm God by laughing at jokes.

Ok-e-dok-ee then, don't YOU watch the Simpsons, but don't judge anybody else who does. Cause if you do judge them it might be the log in your eye that is obscuring the dust-mite in theirs.
