Vice President Kamala Harris, who self-identifies as Christian, keeps claiming Americans don’t need to compromise their religious values to be pro-abortion. To which other Christians (including Tony Dungy) responded to her with, “Exactly what ‘faith’ are you talking about?

As election day rapidly approaches, abortion is on the ballot in 10 states. In some states, like my state of Colorado, we are being asked to enshrine the right to abortion into our state constitution. This is a critical moment for Christian voters to think clearly about the most enduring moral debate of our time and why it this is the wrong path for our country.

While what Scripture says may not matter to your secular neighbor, it should matter to Evangelicals. The Bible teaches that we owe our very existence to Him. You, as an individual human, are valuable because you are made in the image of God.

I've never met a pro-abortion person.

In the political realm, it is a moral dilemma weighing all the wrongs a Republican administration either ignores or actively works against (saving our planet, supporting just compassionate immigration reform.)

People you mistakenly describe as pro-abortion support universal health care, free or low-cost birth control, comprehensive sex education discussing abstinence and birth control---all things pro-life people tend to oppose.

Let me share a sorrow. Years ago, I worked with a videographer on content. He had diabetes--and no insurance. Caring friends would share their extra unused diabetes meds to help him. Pro-lifers fought the ACA and delayed its start date for years.

I just saw on FB that he vowed to dance on his prosthetic leg. And I cried for my old friend.

Banning abortion shouldn't mean suffering, hunger, homelessness, climactic disasters--but it does.

And if you don't feel some moral dilemma about your choices, whatever they are, it should.

Even though it seems to be one of the main issues for (mainly the US based) Christians, I find very few if any mentions about abortions in the Bible.

I do not know how it has become so huge part of the modern Christian morality.

Well, thats not much for it to be such significant issue for Christians today.

What is the Hebrew or Greek word for abortion?

So you support Abortion Fantine?
I think as many abortions can be prevented by liberal solutions--universal Healthcare, low cost birth control, comprehensive sex ed--as by "bans."

People who can afford to travel to other places, or go underground.

I think there are better ways to prevent abortion.

In every case, restorative justice (God's justice) is better than retributive justice

By that you mean expanding access to abortion and allowing for it's legality. As a Catholic, whose Church prohibits and speaks against the morality of birth control, why do you support it?

You could just outlaw it, make it really hard for abortion to be procured or sold. Yet you support the killing of children as an institution. For the greater good I guess some children must die? Is this what your Church teaches?

Please define restorative justice vs retributive justice. Where is the justice for the aborted children whom you support being aborted as a necessity.

I’m not a biblical scholar. I don’t know.

It is often said abortion is an "intrinsic" evil. But so is racism.

I refer you to the recent Madison Square Garden Racism Fest.
Why do you hate racism more than you hate abortion? Is murder more acceptable than disliking a race or ethnicity?

If you're genuinely confused about why Christians oppose abortion, you may want to start with rereading the Gospel accounts.

Somehow I doubt the Jesus of "suffer the little children to come to me" and "he who causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone tied to his neck and to be drowned in the sea" and "see that you do not despise one of these little ones" looks kindly on those who would tear the little ones to pieces in the womb.

How about providing free prenatal care and childcare for pregnant women considering abortion?

You’re entirely right. Both are wrong. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
