Would you think it to be bad to be in a band (I write and sing) with non-Christians and not tell them that your writing your lyrics with (desrete) Christian intent?

I wouldn't call it 'bad', but I would see no reason not to tell them. If you are concerned with their response, then write some lyrics, explain your stance to them, and let them read your lyrics. They'll be hearing them if they are in the band with you already.
I had a good friend who was in your same situation. He was upfront with the other guys, and while they weren't down with him expressing his faith, they didn't stop him, or kick him out. But you should definately let them know where you are coming from lyrically.

If they want to complain about stuff like that, let them listen to lyrics from other rock bands that are openly christian - As I Lay Dying, Demon Hunter, POD, Project 86 or some others that have the same sort of situation as you - Thrice (lead singer/song writer is christian, at least part of the band is not).
