i was looking at this a day or so ago. I do believe it is, because you should not dwell on impure thoughts, obviously. The Bible indeed does mention Onan, but that was because he did not want to give the Widoow a Child.

It's wrong to lust, and you lust when you touch. Those of you who protest you don't lust when you touch (something I used to be able to do), my argument is...Better safe than sorry.

Is it wrong to lust after my wife ?

Lusting for somebody you aren't married to is wrong. The point is most of the debate about touching yourself, isn't when it's in marriage. And that could go into a whole other debate in itself.

But when you lust you're commiting adultry in your heart, if you're married to the person there's no problem. Point is, touching yourself is wrong.

I think that the fact that it is a gray area means stay away!! Christians get into to trouble by getting as close to the line as possible which puts them in horrible situations! 2 Timothy 2:22 says to flee also youthful lusts!! In other words, don't even put yourself in a situation where you could sin! Fornication is unlawful sex etc. Therefore if it was designed for marriage, I would consider masturbation unlawful and therefore a sin. Besides, I have yet to find someone to touch without lustful thoughts. Aren't we supposed to seek those things which are above? Finding pleasure in Christ not our own body?

It is absolutely a SIN, this is not a "gray" area.
If you don't understand that touching yourself is a SIN, the real question you need to ask is, am I following the will God??? And if you're not following the will of God, then the next obviouis question is, what does it mean to be a Christian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the problem like there. Act like it. Act holy. Be holy. Button up ,straighten out, brace yourself.

As if you could ever somehow be(come) holy by any other means than having holiness imputed to you.

I haven't read through all 55 pages of this thread, so please forgive me if someone has already posted this.

Definition of lascivious from dictionary.com
las·civ·i·ous
( P ) Pronunciation Key (l
-s
v
-
s)
adj.
 1. Given to or expressing lust; lecherous.
 2. Exciting sexual desires; salacious.
Mark 7:21-23
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness , an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
KJV

Gal 5:19-21
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness ,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
KJV

Now, I don't now what would describe being given to, or expressing lust better than masturbation.
