When it comes to denominations it is not really much of an issue. What is the issue is your relationship with Christ. Are you trying to walk away from that, or just seeking another fellowship according to God's leading?

Ok. This is the way I see it. If a non-christian becomes a christian and a believer, then that is not a sin. If a christian becomes a member of a non-christian religion, then it is a sin. Also, you cannot become a member of Christianity AND a non-christian religion. In the OT, one of the Ten Commandments, "You shall have no other gods before Me." (Exodus 20:3)

Do you feel that whenever somebody leaves your denomination that should be considered a sin. Or just in some cases, when you leave for a non-orthodox group or cult. What about joining a non-Christian religion or becoming an Atheist?

Anything that is against the word of God is sin. If some one is moving as directed by God there can no sin, if they are going against God's word there is sin. Persons make you feel guilty when you move from on denomination to another but you must not let that be your guide, what must be your guide is the bible.
Cults or atheistic associations are evil and sinfull, but there are alot of churches that are not fully following the bible as there should. It is up to us as individuals to ask God for leading in understanding His word so that we can make the right choice in denomination we should associate with.
We need to stop depending on others for our own salvation, the bible and pray is available to all for us to be able to make intelligent choices.

Let's suppose for one second that you arrive to the conclusion that the whole thing of Christianity is false, that Jesus did not come back from the dead, for example. Is arriving to that conclusion sinful?
Yes. Anything that is not from faith is sin.

Yes, because you'd be flat out wrong. It isn't true.

Well, I can only reply that I cannot understand that. I cannot see how being wrong about an objective truth is sinful. It is an objective truth that 2 * 9 = 18, and yet kids who make mistakes at maths are not commiting a sin.

Obviously that is because they aren't denying the Living God, which is the sin of the apostate.

Is being wrong sinful?

In regard to faith: Unbelief is sin.

Now, if I took a math exam and got question 5 wrong would it be a sin?: I'd be wrong, but I don't think it would be sinful.

You are pretty much saying it is a sin, because it is a sin. And if it's so, it will leave the would-be atheist in a catch 22 situation, for if he no longer believes in Christ but forces himself to do so, is he not being dihonest to his own conscience; yet if he follows his conscience he sins by denying God.

Yes, well, that is why you must have faith. I would rather be dishonest to my conscience then deny the Living God.

Forcing yourself to believe > apostasy.

These clubs are taken *way* too seriously .

Why would it be a sin to join a club , switch clubs , join many clubs , or not be a part of any club what-so-ever ? They aren't churches - they just like to think of themselves as such . As long as they restrict access to *any* Christian on the basis of doctrine or bylaws - they are not a "church" . All Christians *are* the Church - the one and only Church . Any group not including all of us is not a church . Clubs are not a part of it .

I think your question/statement is covering to many subjects to get a good answer. If you wouldn't mind asking about one subject at a time I would like to put in my two cents.

Depends entirely on the context of the situation, the history of the person, and many other things.
